Charging and tech support needs to be fixed

Charging is unreliable, car stops numerous times during a session. Techs don’t know anything about these, fastest they could charge the car was 4-5kWh when at home charging is usually between 8-11kWh. It’s the equivalent of me telling them it rides rough around 65mph and they drive it around the lot and then tell me everything works fine. Then they blame the home charger and tell me to get a new one. Unacceptable responses and troubleshooting. They aren’t working on your vehicle, they’re guessing and hoping you shut up and walk away.

Love my Ioniq 5

Comfortable stylish all electric. It has a unique look. The interior is spacious. The range is excellent. I get lots of comments and questions about my car. The power response is amazing. Getting on the freeway is a breeze. It drives itself on the freeway.

I like the car very much.

All and all I happy with the car. I love the way it looks. For the money I think they could provide a bit more comfort. If your going to give the driver electric seats, why not the front passenger is well.

Ionic 5 after a years use in the North East.

This car had a lot of promise, and unfortunately it was misrepresented at the sale of the vehicle. Although we were very happy with performance, range and comfort, it was purchased in the summer, and it recharged splendidly however the first cold recharge event we realized the car did not have the battery preconditioning. (Bluelink said it must be turned on in the car) We were told that there was a software fix coming and then several month later we were told it could not be done to this model. The dealer was not willing to help us out in any way (Boo Garvey Hyundai!) We are stuck with a fine summer car that adds hours to a trip in winter!

fun to drive but worry about reliability

The car is great to drive; displays and interfaces are great. Lots of room in the car especially leg room. Intuitive everything mostly. One major failure while driving is the biggest concern. Two and one-half months to repair but the warranty covered it all and a rent car. Turn radius could be better.

Ioniq 5 Service issues

I had the car for 8 months and noticed the AC wasn't working. I live in Tucson, Arizona and not having the AC working is a major issue in the desert heat. I called the dealership to set up a time to have them look at it as it was still under warranty. They told me the EARLIEST THEY COULD SEE ME WAS OVER 2 MONTHS AWAY. So I had to add refrigerant to the AC system so I would work at my own cost. When I went into the dealership, a lot of that refrigerant had leaked out again. They topped it off again, but couldn't find where it was leaking. They put in dye which under a dye light would show where the leak was. They asked me to come back in a month later. I have a time set up next week to bring the car back in and hopefully they will be able to find the leak and make the repair to fix the leak at that time. I had to spend $5000 over MSRP to get this car, and when it comes time to repair it, the dealership can't get me in for over 2 months. That's just awful.

Love my Ioniq 5

Overall, I love my Ioniq 5. It is comfortable, fun to drive and I feel very safe in this car. Even though the car is excellent, I am nervous about the car due to the way the dealerships lack service, responsiveness and knowledge about EV's.

Feels unsafe when weather conditions are rainy

Car is great other than rear window wiper missing and driving controls are turn knob and not up or down. Not having a remote truck opener is a surprise any style of car. Electrify America is not the best partner. There are not enough locations in Florida and stations are rarely working well.

Mileage range well below advertised.

Mileage range 50 miles below advertised at 100% charge with no satisfactory explanation from dealer or Hyundai despite multiple stays for multiple days at dealership. Nothing in Hyundai literature explains reason for deficit or how to improve it.

Great first gen vehicle! Great look! 800V fast charge is a MUST!! PLEASE DON'T GO TO STUPID TESLA CHARGE PLUG!! Want to get the N version! NEED MOAR POWA BABY!! Would like to have a Sentry Mode in case of collisions.

Charging issues.

Charging issues. Battery fist took more than one hour to charge at a supercharger. Would only charge at 56KW. After it was fixed, later the 12 volt battery stopped charging. The car just stopped on the road with 90% charge and had to be towed. Been in shop almost three weeks in the first year of ownership.

APPARENTLY HYNDAI DOESN'T KNOW WHAT AN IONIQ 5 IS.

Wasted too much time on this already. You don't even recognize that electric cars don't need oil changes. PULEAZE Oh, I need to type more to stop typing. Great review design. Carry on! Here, some more letters: Twas brillig and the slithy toves did gyre and gimble in the wabe. All mimsy were the borogroves and the mome raths outgabe.

Almost Perfect!

The ride of this EV SUV is great, so is the range with each charge, but be careful driving in inclement weather because there is NO rear window wiper. Not sure where the design team lives, but in my part of the world it rains a lot and driving in the rain is a safety hazard. Hopefully Hyundai will come up with a retrofit rear window wiper and make this an absolute 10!

I enjoy my Ionic5 very very much! I have driven it less than I anticipated, due to being at another domestic location for work and because of traveling Internationally this past year. I anticipate I will drive and enjoy my Ionic5 much more in the coming months and years.

Utility plus fun

This car is luxury and fun combined. The interior is upscale and incredibly comfortable. The car has amazing pick up and handling. I moved from having a mini van and so I needed big enough cargo space for still buying and transporting large objects and boxes. I have found the cargo area very spacious.
