Recommend in warm not cold; tires/alignment/vehicle weight were issues for us

Great commuter EV for my family overall in warm weather; love the safety, drive, double screen and ease of use vs Tesla, range, and comfort during warm. Range and charge in cold temperatures not recommended. Snowy/rainy conditions inactivates safety features when you need them. EV weight/tire quality/lack of holding alignment caused tire blow out before half of tire warranty (rear were bald front were 3s with regular Hyundai servicing at 20,000 miles), which was not honored by Michelin.

Awesome vehicle

The looks drew me in, the quality and features sold me. Interior feels luxe, ride is silent and smooth. I get compliments everywhere I go. It doesn't look like every other vehicle on the road. Extremely pleased.

Customer service is lacking for this brand!

Car has a 12 volt battery issue. Hyundai will not authorize the dealer to repair or replace any components of the starting/12 volt battery system. Problem has been going on for over 1 year! Excuses offered from Hyundai each time car is taken in. A recall exists on the very part that is causing the issue. Hyundai won't respond to the recall.

Only gets 200 miles on the freeway

Value of the vehicle has dropped by more than 50% in 2 years. Millage is not what is stated on screen, I have been to the dealer 4 times and always get the same answer, it's the power consumption AC etc. Wish they would have told me that before I spent $54,000 and now lost more than half. Don't plan on taking this on a road trip. My experience has been horrible, station not working, can't start charging.

Spend a lot of time at the dealership

From the start I started having issues with my Ioniq 5 after a month of owning it. It cause me to crash and get in an accident. It veered on its own not reliable at all. Also after only owning for a year again had to change a major part that had to do with the electrical system. My car was at the dealership for a month.

most problem car I have owned, going to get the main battery checked out, went from 221 mile range at 80% down to 187 at 80% way more than 10% as promised for 10 years. in only 2 years

problems reporting problems, have to kept taking it back for a problem because they do a software update, take it back another software update and again. I finally got to talk to the mechanic personally and he replaced a computer module, so I could charge my car at the charging station without it stopping 2 to 4 times or not even connecting to the car, bad experiences so far from the beginning

Best car ever. Had a Tesla and this is a better car.

I have had many expensive brand name cars and I believe this car is the best car I have ever owned. It is extremely comfortable. I have recommended it to all my friends who have also purchased the car.

2022 Not Ready for Release…

The car lacks a battery heater which means that 2WD’s take VERY LONG to charge in winter. The Index to the Owner’s Manual is not well done at all. The actual manual is very large, but the index is too condensed. Many topics are mysteriously omitted. They obviously didn’t hire a technical editor, relying on internal engineers for the index. Does it work? Yes… Is it worth the price? No….

Love my IONIQ 5

Got my 2022 Ioniq 5 brand new without a test drive. The salesman drove us because I was afraid to drive it. I love driving it and would buy it again if I had it to do all over. There was a big learning curve with regard to the technology involved and that is why I didn't want to actually test drive it myself.

I like my space ship.

I really like the Ioniq 5. It looks better than any Tesla, it's cheaper, and the company isn't run by a dickhead. I had a few issues with getting some repairs done and that was incredibly frustrating. One dealer said it wouldn't be covered by warranty, another said it would be and it was covered. Overall, Hyundai makes good cars, despite the recent BS regarding them being easy to steal and my issues with the dealerships near me.

Awesome thing, can't beat it. Durable, performance, looking great.

Love it from 1st minute. Everything so stylish and modern, that feel, that look. Driving it more than 2 years and still love it. So many good ideas are there and so many flexibility and reliability. My best recommendations. I'm looking to keep it and purchase 2nd vehicle Ioniq 5N as soon as I can get it.

Overall fun vehicle

Great vehicle fun to drive. But if you care about the resale avoid this at all cost. Car went from 48,000 to about 17,000$ in less then 2 years and about 42 000 miles. If the resale isn't a concern it's actually a great car.

2 years, nearly 35,000 miles. Still love it.

A very comfortable road car. Smooth, quiet, fast and comfortable. Very fast charging if/when you can find a 350 kW charger open and working. Even with the stock all season tires this car deals with mountain snow wonderfully, just put it in "snow mode" and away you go. I am struggling to find something to complain about on the car. I guess the only annoyance is that I need to use the key fob control to remotely move the car in and out of our garage and sometimes the car is a bit finicky about having enough clearance to move into the garage. Definitely a "first world problem".

A wonderful car

As soon as I test drove this car, I said this is the car for me. I had test driven other electrics, but this was far and away the best. It has performed extremely well, the range is excellent, and the ride is very smooth and quiet.

Best Car I have ever owned

My words can not describe how happy I have been with this car . I've had it for almost 2 years. Only been in the factory service bay twice. Each for a software update. Car is fantastic on all fronts. I could go on forever but needless to say there is a reason this won World Car of the Year award in 2022 when it came out. If you are considering an all electric crossover, you should check it out. And finally they are discounting them after a long while of dealer markups.

Love It

The vehicle is very fun to drive. Very performance is very responsive and it has amazing safety features. My favorite is the blind spot cameras that turn on while using the turn signals. the cargo space is good as well and the whole family loves the car.

Voted World's best car of 2022 and 2023!

We only experienced a small increase in electrical usage because we prepared for the Ionic 5 with solar/battery back up. It took a little while to get the charging rate set correctly as we use a medium grade charger. Otherwise, the vehicle itself performs way beyond expectations. We love it!
