Great car. Very stylish.

I love that my screen is not huge like in a Tesla. I don't want my screen to be the main focus of my car. It drives great. I like how quickly it can "get up and go" if you need to go. I love the control I feel when I drive my car. I also love my cyber green; it's not the typical color.

My Hyundai has been in the shop for over a month

I have been extremely happy with my Hyundai until it blew a charging fuse. It has been at the New Port Richie, FL Hyundai dealership for over a month with no information whatsoever about when the part is coming to fix it. This has changed my entire Hyundai experience!!!!!!!

Great vehicle, tarnished by recalls and electrical issues

I work from home, so even two years after purchasing the Ioniq 5, driving for simple chores and the occasional trip across states has only brought us to about 6,000 miles. The first year or so I would have had nothing but compliments about the vehicle–it looks great, charges as fast as one can reasonably expect for an EV even in 2025, has plenty of useful features, and is fun to drive. Eventually though, the number of recalls we had to interrupt our lives for in order to service the vehicle started to get me concerned. Every time I brought the vehicle in, it felt as though the representatives at the dealership had no idea how an EV works, and were simply running software updates without having any capacity to investigate issues themselves. Not long after other owners started to report 12V battery issues and a related recall was issued, we attempted to head out for some weekly chores only to find our car unable to start. We still had weeks to go until the recall servicing appointment, so we jumped the 12V battery. We ended up having to do this a few times leading up to the appointment, never knowing when we'd arrive to use the car and be delayed by this process. We brought it in for the appointment, paid for our rides home and back to the dealership because Hyundai refused to cover it, and arrived to find that a software update had been applied. When questioned, the mechanic didn't seem confident that this had resolved the issue, but suggested we bring it in again if the 12V battery depleted again. In about a month, one of our weekends was interrupted by our car not starting. We had to tow it in, and then received no updates from the dealership until we called in on Monday afternoon. They claim to have not realized it was brought over despite us calling about it earlier, and then claimed that they couldn't open the door with the provided key. Apparently they forgot an electric car with a dead battery must use the physical key. We got it back days later with no loaner car offered, and having to pay for a ride over to pick it up. An awful experience, and yet likely even worse for those unfortunate enough to encounter ICCU issues. It is a shame. I really like the car when it works as intended. I can't recommend it to anyone who must rely on it as their main method of transportation; it is not reliable and service is poor.

Almost perfect!

If the Ionic 5 had a rear window wiper this car would be perfect. Without the rear window wiper, it is deadly dangerous to drive in any rain that is more than a sprinkle. I can only assume the design engineer lives in a remote desert land where rain is scarce.

Very poor, the battery died after 15k miles.

Not a reliable vehicle as I have been unable to drive it for almost a year and the battery is on back order. Back camera was faulty from the factory on day one and the AC broke one and a half years in.

Best car I have ever owned

Until 12/8/2024 and my ICCU went out. My car is still in the shop with no way to charge and a battery that has been dead for 4 months (not sure what that is going to do to battery life) the dealer has been providing me with a loaner that I have to gas up (thankful I at least have a car to drive)

Excellent EV, performs seamlessly, reasonable range between charges. Good customer service. Software updates required over time. Only had one nervous experience with range anxiety. Provided free charging for first two years.

This vehicle suits my needs for my commuting and being able to have the option to plug it into my home charger each night. I enjoy being able to pass a gas station and feel that I am doing my part to help conserve.

Reliable, fun to drive

No problems with this, my first, electric vehicle. By far my favorite of the 10 vehicles I have owned over the past 50 years. I have had zero maintenance expenditures in my first two years of ownership.

I looked this car

I love the car just would like a rear wiper and a spare. Getting an appointment for service can take some time. I wouldn’t own an electric car if I didn’t have a level 2 charger at home. Longer range would be nice for longer trips. However that’s why I own an ice car for my other car.

We use this as our daily driver for its safety and handling.

Great solid vehicle with excellent acceleration and handling. We love the low maintenance associated with this vehicle. We already had solar panels installed and hired an electrician to boost our electrical connection, as well as purchasing a Wallbox for plug in features.

Fun to drive, but poor dealer response to a repeated intermittent 12 volt charging defect.

I love driving this car. It is very responsive and has the acceleration needed to safely merge o to limited access highways. But my wife refuses to drive it because of periodic failures of the 12 volt battery system.

Best ride ever

This is my first EV car and I can tell you that I would never own a gas car again. I have to say it is quite and smooth ride even surprised me. I have little problems or recalls on this car and when I did the dealership took care of it in a timely fashion. Over all I would say this is the best car I have owned

Recommend in warm not cold; tires/alignment/vehicle weight were issues for us

Great commuter EV for my family overall in warm weather; love the safety, drive, double screen and ease of use vs Tesla, range, and comfort during warm. Range and charge in cold temperatures not recommended. Snowy/rainy conditions inactivates safety features when you need them. EV weight/tire quality/lack of holding alignment caused tire blow out before half of tire warranty (rear were bald front were 3s with regular Hyundai servicing at 20,000 miles), which was not honored by Michelin.

Awesome vehicle

The looks drew me in, the quality and features sold me. Interior feels luxe, ride is silent and smooth. I get compliments everywhere I go. It doesn't look like every other vehicle on the road. Extremely pleased.

Customer service is lacking for this brand!

Car has a 12 volt battery issue. Hyundai will not authorize the dealer to repair or replace any components of the starting/12 volt battery system. Problem has been going on for over 1 year! Excuses offered from Hyundai each time car is taken in. A recall exists on the very part that is causing the issue. Hyundai won't respond to the recall.

Only gets 200 miles on the freeway

Value of the vehicle has dropped by more than 50% in 2 years. Millage is not what is stated on screen, I have been to the dealer 4 times and always get the same answer, it's the power consumption AC etc. Wish they would have told me that before I spent $54,000 and now lost more than half. Don't plan on taking this on a road trip. My experience has been horrible, station not working, can't start charging.

Spend a lot of time at the dealership

From the start I started having issues with my Ioniq 5 after a month of owning it. It cause me to crash and get in an accident. It veered on its own not reliable at all. Also after only owning for a year again had to change a major part that had to do with the electrical system. My car was at the dealership for a month.
