1 Year Later--GREAT CAR

This is an excellent car overall. I have no major complaints after a year. Minor complaint--poor turning radius. However, that is due to the long wheelbase which makes the cabin enormous for a car with such a small footprint. I'll take that trade all day long. Car is super efficient, comparable to my wife's Tesla Model 3 long range. RWD SEL is sweet spot for efficiency, power, and luxury. I often long for the additional power/speed of AWD unless you really need AWD, I don't miss it if I'm in Sport. And the tradeoff is a much-appreciated extra 50 miles or so of range. SEL features a nice and while Limited would be great, the only things I'd really love would be ventilated seats (FAR less an issue as my seats are light gray vs. black) and better audio. But this car rides great, can swallow a piano with the seats down, is fun to drive, and looks super cool. If you're in the market for a Model S-type car you HAVE to look at this--if you can get your hands on one.

Not worth 55k

This car is not worth the money. A year later and there are chips in the paint in the from, bugs melted into the paint and dents in the paint. It’s a pain! The constant beeping when someone is in your blind spot is so freaking annoying. I know when someone is next to me when I’m turning left in a two lane turn. The back cover in the trunk for the seats came off two weeks after having it and won’t stick back on. I could go on and on but I have a job to get back to.

Good but has flaws

Overall the car is great. The range especially in the winter has been disappointing. It's it has gone through three software updates so far taking at least a half a day at the dealership. The battery preconditioning update ruin the economy mode so that it is no longer useful. It will have to go in for another update to cure that problem. The service staff at Key Hyundai doesn't seem like they've been trained enough to deal with this car. The driver profile system is horrible. You cannot adjust it without it already adjusting for the last person who was in it. My wife is a good 7-in shorter than me and every time I get it after she drives it I get jammed into the steering wheel. The controls on the dashboard are easily touched accidentally in a lot of the things you use a lot like heated seats and he did steering wheel the steps to go through them are too much. The navigation works well but you have to go through a lot of stuff to get to what you need. It sounds like I'm making a lot of complaints but I am very happy with the car. Charging at Electrify America will you get free charging for 2 years has been horrible. The app for that is bad the information you get about the available Chargers is very unreliable in the place I charge at has six units and at least two of the units are down almost all the time.

A comfy quality ride that turns heads on the streets

Never fails every time I’m on the road someone waves at me and gives me a thumbs up pointing at my car. I love the quality and comfort of my ioniq 5. You won’t regret your purchase if you decide to go with Hyundai!

Not enough mileage on a charge

Sadly I bought 4 vehicles at the russelwestbrook dealership because their service dept needs a total overhaul. I’m not at all comfortable bringing my vehicle there l! Very poor to worse I’ve ever dealt with

Fine car, poor company

The ioniq 5 is prolific and well priced. If nothing goes wrong with the car you will be very happy. If youre an unlucky driver and they made a mistake on your car, good luck getting them to make it right. They seem to only be interested in making promises to get your hopes up then to never keep them until your morale breaks and you give up.

Poor quality

Poor quality, definitely not worth the price, the parts feel loose, cracky, and squeaky. USB stopped working after 2 months. Feels like it’s cheaply made. Hyundai service is super poor and hard to book.

So far very impressive car for everything to me. No words used for the complaint! I got it a little bit of skeptical about the quality but i was shocked how excellent of it. Everything is very smooth, fast and quiet. My family all loves my car !

Great car until it died because of a 12V battery and electical system issue.

Loved the car, loved the featues, loved the drive, loved the speed.... then it died, in an epic way with no warning in the middle of nowhere. And LORD is it not easy to find anybody who can service an EV. Even the dealerships don't know what they can do. Towed from one dealership to another to wait weeks for repairs. Confidence in the car going forward.... 3/10. I guess I'll drive it down the street to the grocery store and back, but no more roadtrips far from home.

Very slow charging speed and limited range.

Car doesn't perform as advertised or as sold. Level 3 charging speed is very slow (39kwh) and range is limited (260-280 miles rather than 303. I've taken the car to a Hyundai dealership twice now and the problems persist. First tine I was told they didn't have a working level 3 charger so couldn't assess the problem. I took the car to a second dealership where the mechanics agreed these were problems that needed to be fixed but when they contacted the Hyundai corporate Techline they were told "that 39 Kilowatts is an average speed at level 3 and is normal." Thinking this was just a dumb mistake, I then contacted the Hyundai customer service line. But after 2 weeks of back and forth I was told Hyundai stood behind this assessment even though it conflicts with Hyundai's advertised claims of the Ioniq 5's performance.

Disappointed with this vehicle. Quality poor, craftsmanship worse. Major issue with audio, Bluetooth, navigation, battery, engine, and paint all in first year. Not likely to last. Wouldn’t buy again.

Love the styling but build quality remains a question

Love the styling and performance of this car. However, after experiencing some issues that took longer than expected to fix. Build quality remains a question of concern. It seems that the issues have been resolved for the time being, but only time will tell if I made a great decision buying the Ioniq 5. Luckily, the warranty for Hyundai is longer than other manufacturers. I have that on my side if the same issues reappear.

My Ioniq5 AWD Limited

After a year of owning our car, we still love it; our Ioniq5 has been a joy to drive. It is not perfect, but what car is. For example, it doesn’t have a rear wiper, you have to use a USB cord to connect Apple CarPlay, and the wipers it comes with are not that good…these foibles are only minor in comparison to the overall experience of owning this vehicle. Interior Space: I am 6’4” and can fit comfortably in every seat in the car. Interior Style: modern, sleek, futuristic but not too austere like other EVs. Power: 3 modes Eco, Normal, and Sport. All three provide ample acceleration, especially Sport. Charging speed: no other EV can compare. Even in 40° weather it took only 22 minutes to charge from 20% to 80% using a 350kwh Electrify America charger, which at it highest was pulling about 160kwh. Range: my most recent charging session gave me 200 miles. Through rain, snow, and heat, the working range is about 150 miles which means I charge about once a week for my purposes. If I use my level 2 charger at home it takes about 9 hours to charge from 20% to 80%. The ride is super quiet, the screens inside the vehicle are large and easy to read despite being farsighted. You have plenty of actual buttons and controls at your fingertips for easy operation while driving and at the same time have all the modern benefits of voice commands, on-screen swipes/features, as well as customizable options for each driver profile you set up. I cannot say enough about this wonderful car and how much fun it is to drive.
