Reliable and functional vehicle that is not a Tesla.

Our primary reason for purchasing anEV was ecological. This car fits the bill. It is reliable and functional. Range is predictable for an EV and estimate by the car is reliable. Good family vehicle. We will purchase another Hyundai EV.

Brought back the enjoyment of driving

This car is great! It’s smooth driving, powerful, and the handling and breaking had a great feel to it. The regenerative breaking system is fun to play with, but slightly annoying to try and figure out what is the most energy/range effective. The screens are a great size, and the interior and exterior design is really nice looking. Still getting people checking out my car while I’m driving on the road. 6k on the car so far and experiencing a bit of rattling noise sometimes in the dash and in the lift mechanism for the back latch, but nothing horrible.

Ioniq 5 - Joy to Drive

The Ioniq 5 has been a joy to own and drive. It has saved us enough money on fuel to offset the cost of buying a new vehicle. It is much roomier inside than you would suspect looking at it. It corners like a sports car and has the passenger space of an SUV. I was concerned about the rear wheel drive in snowy weather but it performed better than many front wheel drive vehicles I have owned. Overall, a joy to drive!

Really impressive

Like the engineering, looks, features and everything about the Ioniq 5. Fun to drive. It seems reliable. Would like to have more range in the future. Other than that, I would purchase anoutge Hyundai vehicle

Overall Exellent car

Factoring the federal incentives and 2 years free charging, in addition to great range, comfort and performance , this was an absolute no- brainer. I’d encourage everyone reading this to crunch some numbers and schedule a test drive!

Major system, battery, and engine issues in first year

Disappointed with this vehicle. Quality poor, craftsmanship worse. Major issue with audio, Bluetooth, navigation, battery, engine, and paint all in first year. Not likely to last. Wouldn’t buy again.

Love the styling but build quality remains a question

Love the styling and performance of this car. However, after experiencing some issues that took longer than expected to fix. Build quality remains a question of concern. It seems that the issues have been resolved for the time being, but only time will tell if I made a great decision buying the Ioniq 5. Luckily, the warranty for Hyundai is longer than other manufacturers. I have that on my side if the same issues reappear.

My Ioniq5 AWD Limited

After a year of owning our car, we still love it; our Ioniq5 has been a joy to drive. It is not perfect, but what car is. For example, it doesn’t have a rear wiper, you have to use a USB cord to connect Apple CarPlay, and the wipers it comes with are not that good…these foibles are only minor in comparison to the overall experience of owning this vehicle. Interior Space: I am 6’4” and can fit comfortably in every seat in the car. Interior Style: modern, sleek, futuristic but not too austere like other EVs. Power: 3 modes Eco, Normal, and Sport. All three provide ample acceleration, especially Sport. Charging speed: no other EV can compare. Even in 40° weather it took only 22 minutes to charge from 20% to 80% using a 350kwh Electrify America charger, which at it highest was pulling about 160kwh. Range: my most recent charging session gave me 200 miles. Through rain, snow, and heat, the working range is about 150 miles which means I charge about once a week for my purposes. If I use my level 2 charger at home it takes about 9 hours to charge from 20% to 80%. The ride is super quiet, the screens inside the vehicle are large and easy to read despite being farsighted. You have plenty of actual buttons and controls at your fingertips for easy operation while driving and at the same time have all the modern benefits of voice commands, on-screen swipes/features, as well as customizable options for each driver profile you set up. I cannot say enough about this wonderful car and how much fun it is to drive.

Quick and fun to drive.

Love the Ionic 5. It is fast and fun to drive. Love the looks, comfort and zero emissions. I am a gadget guy, so my only regret is not purchasing the highest convenience package that my other Hyundai has.

Bought it for the benefits of EV, no engine warm up, no oil changes, instant heat. Bought it for the leg room. Plenty of space to put the children in their child seats without moving the front seats. Bought it for class & style, inside & outside. [ I can get fairly enthusiastic about it when asked in the parking lot] Absolutely no issues with a 1st gen model!

GREAT CAR

I enjoy driving the car. There are minor performance issues. A forward sensor went out and has been back ordered for several weeks. There is a constant reminder when driving that the forward collision sensor is inoperative, There's a rattle developed in the cabin difficult to isolate. Annoying. But not buying gasoline? a real good thing.

Excellent Electric Vehicle

This is an excellent looking vehicle. It has plenty of interior space for passengers as well as luggage. The range and acceleration for this vehicle is plenty for commuting in town and could make trips out of town with a little planning.

Great Car - Beautiful Design - Needs Software Improvements & 12V System Help

This car was great for 8 months until i had 12v battery system failure. Dealership and Hyundai communication are terrible but I loved every second of my time with the car and I would surely buy again.

Fantastic car, when it runs

My Ioniq 5 was my favorite car ever, but it died after 8 months with a mystery drain of the 12v battery, and Hyundai has been unable to fix it for 4 months. Otherwise it is a 5 star car. I also own a Tesla Model Y, and I prefer the Ioniq 5 is almost every way. It is one of the best looking cars for sale, it is extremely comfortable both ride and seat. The interior is roomy, open and modern. It is incredibly quiet, far quieter than the Tesla, and a much smoother ride. Tesla does have better storage, and their charging network is superior. Tesla also wins on software integration and updates, where I have yet to have an OTA update to the Ioniq 5. Performance is similar, range is similar even if advertised ranges are way off, real world they are close.

A great car just dont get the RWD, or anything lower than the SEL version

This is the best car to jump into for an all-electric car. it charges fast, rides smoothly, and has a great amount of range. Depending on the year ensure your car has a heat pump and a battery warmer!

When I first laid eyes on the Ioniq 5 I was loke what is this? I immediately started doing research. After test driving I was sold. The Ioniq 5 has a smooth exterior and comfortable interior. The power is something I never experienced before.

Without a doubt the single nicest and most fun CUV and EV on the market.

Having come from a history of premium German car brands I wasn't sure what to expect of the IONIQ 5 when the looks drew me in for a test drive. Well, a test drive was all it took. Incredible performance, unrivaled comfort, an interior designed with such thought but also whit and delight that you can't find it anywhere else in a CUV/SUV/EV remotely close to what the IONIQ 5 costs, and it's just so easy to live with. Fantastic range, comfort, space.

Best Car Ever

This car gets about 180 miles on a charge - easy to use with a home charger or Electrify America (2 years FREE from Hyundai) + a $7500 tax credit! Car is So quiet adn the sound system is awesome! Love the heated seats too!

Good Car, Awful Dealer

The Ioniq is a good EV with better range than many. The omission of a rear window wiper/washer, and the fact that its automatic cruise control can't take rain or snow are the main disappointments. As many have said about its automatic lane keeping, it doesn't center the car in the lane, but hugs the right stripe, which reduces its usefulness.
