2010 FJ Cruiser
The FJ Cruiser is great little Fuji Jeep based on the highly reliable Prado Land Cruiser. It's a specialized vehicle. It's somewhere between a jeep and a 4x4 SUV. It has good on road manners and it's comfortable, but it can tackle Jeep trails. With the right off road setup it's extremely capable. Most people use it as an SUV but like the idea of having 4 wheel drive. In stock form it's a good weekend warrior. If aftermarket add ons are installed you need to be aware of how the modifications will affect your truck. Some are universal while others are specific for off road use. The most common add ons are lift kits, big tires, and bumpers. Be aware of the investment in time and money for properly done modifications. Lift kits should be professionally installed unless you know exactly what your doing! Big tires may require a gear change and can be expensive in many ways. You can add big bumpers at home but consider the extra weight that you will be hauling around. A winch will make the truck nose heavy so you have to add weight in back to compensate. I drive my truck in sand and on dirt roads once in a while, but the majority of the time it's driven on the highway. Seating is really only for 2 adults because the back seats are hard to access. If you want Toyota reliability, good highway manners, and off road capabilities the FJ is an excellent choice.
