So close to being amazing.
I really enjoy the Tucson Hybrid, but there are just a few things that, while minor, really both me. First, I was absolutely astonished to realize there was no garage door opener button. This was standard in vehicles for decades - we still have garage doors, how does a new vehicle get away with getting rid of that? Had I known, I may not have bought the vehicle, despite it costing less than $50 to just buy a remote. That's how annoying and crappy that change is - seems like it cheapens the entire vehicle. I also hate the reliance on electronics - give me an actual shifter, and actual buttons, knobs and dials to do things. The screen and electronic shifter are just one more thing that can go wrong (and cost way more to fix than a manual device).
I also hate not having a spare tire. I know this was a conscious decision on my part, since the hybrid battery is taking up the space, but I wish there was an alternative spot, even at an upcharge, to put a spare (better yet a full size).
Lastly, I know this is an economic decision for Hyundai, and it probably doesn't make financial sense to allow, but if I could pick and choose features instead of needing to go up a model to get another specific feature, that would be awesome. Would I have paid extra to get the built in charging pad? Absolutely, but that was the only thing I really cared about that I didn't have in the model I purchased, so jumping up to the next tier didn't make sense for me.
