Regret Dealer Choice, Love Tucson
I returned to the dealer from which I bought my first-ever Hyundai, a 2019 Sonata Hybrid.
I encountered two new ploys not experienced before: a $3k gap between online offer trade-in value and what was offered for my garaged gem with low mileage. AND, in the final signing, I noticed the numbers were off. Lo and behold, the dealer sneaked in a last-minute item titles "We owe 1" for $1495. "We owe 1" translates to window tinting and nitrogen in the tires.
None of these shennanigans were attempted the the SAME dealer, just six years earlier.
Worst yet, Hyundai told me via email, "As much as we'd like to assist, transactions between the dealership and the consumer are strictly between those parties. We're unable to intervene in any sales disputes. We encourage you to work with the dealership as they're directly involved and will be in the best position to assist."
Yeh, they said that. So, Hyundai will not involve itself in dealer attacks on unsuspecting consumers.
