Enjoyment

This is our 5th Hyundai. We have really enjoyed all of them and look forward to are next one. They ride GREAT the my mileage has been better then advertised. I would say that a joyous between 2 or 3 row seating. Better entrance to the 3rd row. Thanks

Cannot recommend. Too many issues for a brand new vehicle.

I leased a new Santa Fe and have regretted it ever since. Starting just a few months after we got the vehicle, the rear hatch constantly alerted that it was open whenever the vehicle was parked outside — with full lights and alarms blaring. It wasn't. The alarm wouldn't go off until about 15 minutes later, so driving it home from a restaurant, for example, was stressful and embarrassing. It took about a month for the dealership to fix the issue, which they determined was a liftgate latch failure. The automatic liftgate, which is supposed to open when you get close to the vehicle, has never worked. The battery died after 8 months of having the car (seven if you include the month the vehicle was at the dealership for liftgate repairs), and the vehicle was in the shop on and off for more than three months trying to fix that issue. The dealership installed a new fuel injector, and the vehicle's acceleration has never been the same. If the lights are set to auto, the battery drains, and we have to charge it for the vehicle to start, again--still! The battery charges past 20%, so the dealership won't replace it altogether. The fingerprint driver identification hasn't worked for about six months, since the battery saga (which left me stranded over the Christmas holiday, mind you) — I just don't have the interest in taking the car to the dealership for repairs AGAIN to fix that minor inconvenience. It's just a lemon, and now we're stuck in this lease for 19 more months. Never will I purchase a Hyundai again.

I had a 2021 Santa Fe Limited. Now I have the 2025 Santa Fe Caligraphy & 2026 hyundai Tuson Limited. Prior to these vehicles I had a Lexus RX 350, a Merced ML350 and the hyundai has the same features and can use regular gas.

One year review

We like the vehicle and the technology. 3 recalls in the last year is a little concering and aggrevating. We have to drive 100 miles each time to take it back. Probably the biggest unresolved thing is the drivers side window does not seal tightly. Above 35-45 MPH, there is a whistling sound and you can hear the air coming thru somewhere around the drivers side window. Thank you. Randy Franklin

Mechanical decisions compromised otherwise fantastic build

You cannot put the car in neutral for towing without a full battery. If the battery is dead you can't put the car in neutral. The autostop engine to prevent idle feature is implemented terribly. It turns the engine on when someone is pulling away. It also turns the engine on if you shift to Park! And also turns the engine on if you remove your seat belt. These are terrible decisions. Other cars I've owned have not had these strange design considerations

Do NOT purchase a Hyundai.

1 year old, 4 recalls and 2 customer care incidents. I wouldn't recommend this vehicle to anyone. It's a year old and has roughly 10,000 miles on it. One morning I went out to the garage and it was completely dead. I had to use the actual key to enter the vehicle. Hyundai customer care had to tow the vehicle to the shop. Recent trip to Las Vegas from Phoenix for a work conference on the day I was going to leave had a big warning to get the vehicle to the dealer immediately for a transmission issue. This was Friday morning and Henderson Hyundai could only do an initial diagnostic and wouldn't be able to do a full one untill the following Tuesday. They suspected it would need a full transmission replacement. Called 3 times on Tuesday morning and they finally called me back and said they did a software update and everything was fine. By the time I got to the dealer, it was back to needing a full transmission replacement. Needless to say, I was stranded in Vegas for an additional 5 days. Thankfully I have family in the area and had a place to stay. They gave me the number for Customer care and they mentioned that they would probably pay for a rental car... "probably". At this point I rented a rental car and drove home on Wednesday. The last I heard was the new transmission was in route to the dealer. Nothing since this last Tuesday, the 15th.

Be careful of false lies by dealers

While I am very satisfied with my Hyundai Santa Fe, the buying process was filled with wise and misinformation. Tamiami Hyundai and their sales team cannot be trusted and would advise to use another Hyundai dealership.

Good but needs some tweeks

Front windscreen wipers need some kind of defrost. Some of these vehicles get driven in winter climates and the wipers ice up. Since they are so low the front blower defrost doesn't have any affect on melting of ice and snow. Windscreen needs an electric windscreen defrost wire across the wiper location. Or re-route some hvac duct work under the dash to blow on the wiper location. Have had a few electronic glitches but nothing major. Occasionally the head unit needs to be reset due to no sound. Sometimes the drivers seat does not return to the memory position from the easy entry/exit position. My auto reverse window safety feature didn't work and broke a window. Dealer wouldn't fix it even after they confirmed it didn't work.

I love the look and features of my XRT. However I am already having issues and only have 10k miles on it. First it had massive mechanical issues, then the seatbelt alarms would randomly go off until I turned the car off, then it wouldn’t turn on at random intervals, now it’s violently shaking randomly. I will be driving and it will start shaking and the check engine light will come on. The vehicle will shake until I turn it off. I have taken it into the dealership for every issue and they have been unable to help. I really enjoy this vehicle when it works!
