Love my Santa Fe

The Santa Fe is fantastic. Well designed and super comfortable. I like the exterior styling but I know that the more boxy design may not be for everyone. Would recommend this sub to anyone.

Santa Fe premium SUV with a couple weakness

Great for the great part. But for a top of the line (Calligraphy) has a some area where improvements are needed. The headlights are a weak area. On a top of the line car I would expect adaptive headlights and cornering lights. My VW has both and they should be included. As the lack of Fog or Foul Weather running lights. again, top of the line car. Another lighting weakness is the lack of puddle lamps. My VW has those. Now there are also a couple of features that are actual safety issues. The glare on the diagonal HVAC touch screen can make the settings disappear. The actual buttons at the top and lettering for those can be read but you can't see what you are touching in certain light conditions. I have had to stop and pull over to adjust the fan. Taking your eyes off the road to look down can cause fatal accidents. And, the Driver attention system is linked to the cruise control. If you wear certain sunglasses, the system does not work and actually causes the cruise to disengage suddenly causing deceleration. At high speed this is an issue. There should be a way to disengage that driver attention option when driving with cruise control. Finally, the standard low profile tires on the Calligraphy is a bad standard choice. A smaller wheel with a higher profile tire would make for a smoother ride and fewer blown out tires

Again, too much tech/battery powered features that cannot be programmed off (at least that we have figured out). Much prefer the manual fold-down feature of the rear captain’s chairs in our 2015 to the electrics in our new one. The driver’s seat in the 2015 ran full back when the door was opened at the end of a drive, and it stayed there until you reentered the car, closed the door, and started the engine—-saving the battery. Tuning the radio takes an engineering degree, and can take your eyes off the road for extended periods. The “Consider taking a break.” warning seems to come on randomly. The calf rest is basically useless on the drivers side. Not big enough or raises high enough to support my legs (I’m 5’11”). Should be on the passenger side so they can sleep while you drive!

Great car with minor but annoying software issues and defective tires

Overall very happy with this car and only have a few minor complaints: - Engine auto stop shuts the engine down when the car is stopped (expected), but turns it right back on when the car is put in Parking gear, just to shut it down again when I hit the stop engine button before getting out of the car. This is an unnecessary OFF-ON-OFF cycle every time I park the car. - Android auto doesn't always take voice commands. It reacts to "Hey Google" or to the press of the steering wheel button but exits "listening mode" immediately. - The sound insulation foam in the stock Prielli Scorpion tires comes lose after a few thousand miles causing serious vibration at highway speed. The only remedy my Hyundai service offered is to remove the foam. While this fixes the vibration, this is still a defect in the original tire and Hyundai should have Pirelli replace these tires under warranty.

I like my Santa Fe. Currently having a screen failure with multiple trips to the dealer to resolve. Tires didn’t last 19K miles even though I followed maintenance recommendations and drove 99% on pavement.

2024 Santa Fe Review

I love the car. It could use more room in the 3rd row and in the trunk. A sunroof is a must for me. The Santa Fe has two, but I wish the both of them could open. Other than that, is a really reliable and nice truck.

Almost a good or even a great car!

Just over 15k easy miles and it is showing some wear. The drivers door where you rest your arm is showing a lighter coat of paint or primer beneath it and it is from wear. The windshield cracks/chips very easy. Several weeks ago I needed to go to the store and the battery was dead. Jumped it and drove it to the dealership and the next day they said I left something on. I asked what and they could not tell me. Sounds suspicious to me. Now I worry when I go somewhere that the car won't start when I'm ready to leave. At times maybe 10 or so after I start the car and put it in gear and hit the gas the car will shudder or miss for a few feet. Except one time I had to shut the car off and restart it and it worked perfect after that. The tires are very sensitive to low pressure. Currently they track straight but my left front sensor shows only 32 pounds of air in the tire and it gradually works its way up to 34/35 pounds. I had the dealer check it out when they looked at the battery and they said it was fine. Hard to believe. One woman at the dealership told me I needed to check my tires air pressure every week. I'm not making this up. I called Hyundai to get assistance in making my wife's phone her digital key. I tried numerous times but was not able to do so. The lady I talked to at Hyundai worked with me for almost an hour. She had me do the same thing over and over. Finally, I told her we tried that X times and it does not work. If you don't know what you are doing can we get someone on the phone that does. She said she will have someone call me and that was 6 months ago. I just dropped a star after writing all this. And there is more but I don't have the time to get into it. So yes, I am looking forward to buying a new car in the hopefully not too distant future and it will not be a Hyundai. Not so sure if it's the people I am dealing with or the car, but I can't change the people only the car.

The computer keeps turniong on and off and sometimes when I step on the gas it stalls and seems as if it is going to turn off, the luetooth connection turns off continuesly and I have to reconnect constantly. Most of the time when I step on the gas the car chokes and wont take off smoothly.
