Love My New Ride

I wanted something a little larger than my previous crossover, but still wanted a hybrid. I love my Santa Fe! Large cargo space allows this gardener to get all of my planting needs in my cargo space with ease. I made use of the climate start numerous days during the winter. The rear hatch auto open is taking some getting used to but appreciate the convenience when my hands are full. The seat and headrest are very comfortable and I appreciate that I can have the hvac Driver Only.

Almost perfect

LOVE the vehicle. I have one MAJOR complaint. I can't open the garage door if the vehicle is off. This is VERY dangerous if the vehicle is in the garage. I have to start the vehicle first, the open the garage door. This is VERY dangerous. Please allow me to open the garage door when the vehicle is off.

Manufacture Defect

My vehicle had a manufacturing defect of steering wheel vibration when driving the car over 50 mph since day 1 of buying my new car. Before buying the car I clarified with the dealership regarding the issue and they reassured me that the problem will be fixed. After 5 attempts of fixing the same problem they told me this is how this car drives. Which was ridiculous response from the dealership. Will never go back to that dealership again and buy santa fe car.

More Mini Van than SUV

Sometimes I feel like I should be going to the kids’ soccer games instead of transporting work supplies but it feels like a decent vehicle for the price. I’ve already had a recall and a couple of software updates, but I suppose that also means Hyundai fixes problems as they can. Not designed for tall people as the heads-up display does not accommodate (even after adjusting). Great leg room in the front and back seat though!

Many features at first glance look good, reality is they are not practical and just plain dangerous in some situations.

Cheap Feeling and Very Clunk for a Hybrid

Initially liked the vehicle enough to buy it but after 1300 miles I got rid of it for a V6 Palisade. The Hybrid MPG claims 36 on the screen but in real world manual calcukation it was not getting more than 28-29. The transition from EV to Gas is also very clunky compared to a HEV From Honda of Toyota. I attributed it to the 6 speed transmission vs eCVT which seems like a conventional automatic is not a good match for a HEV for fuel savings. It left me feeling underpowered and waiting for it figure out what gear to go into feeling very "clunky." If you are looking at a HEV I would NOT get a Santa Fe. Personally would just get a Honda or Toyota HEV. Not to mention it depreciated ~ $9,000 in 2 months which does not happen on Toyota or Honda HEV For me I ended up going back to V6 since the vehicle did not preform well and turned me off from owning any other HEV for now.
