Great vehicle with very basic base model

I love the vehicle. However, I was disappointed in the fact that the base model was very basic. Specifically, no electric or heated driver's seat. I had a Tucson prior to the Santa Fe, and the base model had electric and heated driver's seat in it, but the Santa Fe does not. Other than that, I am very happy with the extra space, 3rd row option, and look of the new Santa Fe.

Complete Hybrid System and Electronic Failure

The vehicle stopped itself on the interstate after the dashboard flashed "Hybrid System Failure" in bright red letters. The parking brake occasionally voluntarily engages and can't be released (until you turn off the car, wait, then restart it). The car occasionally will not go into gear after starting (until you turn off the car, wait, then restart it). The dealer found "nothing wrong" even though these failures are stored in the car's internal computer, unless the dealer wipes clean the hard drive. Hmmm?

The Hyundai Santa Fe is shockingly great

I was shocked to experience the styling, comfort and overall build quality of our new Hyundai Santa Fe. I've owned Fords, Buicks, Cadillacs and other brands. Hyundai is ahead of the curve in every category. It's not a sports car, but it has enough zip for typical driving, passing of the freeway, and meeging into traffic. If you value style, color choices, technology, along with a smooth, quiet ride, give Hyundai a test drive. Oour dealer (Fontana Hyundai, just off the 210 in Fontana), was helpful and friendly. The warranty is one of the best. Hyundai is no longer a cheep, foreign car company. Our Santa Fe compare very favorably with any of the Cadillacs I've ever owned.

Only negative is the screen to control heat/air conditioning fan requires driver to take eyes off of road to find it, if sun is shining even worse.

Loss of power during drive

I purchased a 2026 Hyundai Santa Fe hybrid FWD recently, and the vehicle currently has only around 4,000 miles on it. Overall, I like the vehicle, but I have experienced a concerning issue that I believe needs to be addressed. While driving, I occasionally feel a very brief loss or cut-off of power for about a second. It is not a prolonged loss of power—the vehicle immediately returns to normal—but it has happened multiple times. The first time, I thought it might have been related to the FWD system or driving over some gravel, so I assumed it was something I needed to get used to. However, it has happened again on clean, smooth roads where there was no obvious reason for the vehicle to momentarily reduce power. Because the vehicle is only a few months old and has just around 4,000 miles, I don't think this behavior should be occurring. Even though the interruption is very brief, it is noticeable and concerning, especially when driving in traffic or accelerating. I plan to have the vehicle inspected by the Hyundai dealership and hope they can identify the cause. I wanted to share my experience in case other 2026 Santa Fe owners have noticed something similar.

Amazing Comfort and Tech

We bought our Santa Fe Calligraphy AWD Hybrid to replace a 2023 Range Rover Sport and we couldn't be happier. The Hyundai is more comfortable and the tech is leagues ahead of the Range Rover. Fuel efficiency and range is impressive too - all on regular octane fuel! And a 10-year warranty? Yes, please.

Very good but still room for improvement

First of all, I really love most of the car. It drives well and is very comfortable. I’m not going to say all the great things about the car, because there are many. The things that need to be improved… The entertainment options and menus are far too complicated. I’m a techy and it’s too much. I far too many taps on the screen to switch between radio, car play, and usb storage. There is no place to put sunglasses. No place easy to reach to put a sunglasses case without removing eyes off the road for a long period of time. The HUD causes a slight refraction of the glass and a slight prism effect, even if the hud is not in use. The liftgate is programable to how high it lifts… it is only accurate about 40% of the time. I’ve programmed it numerous times to not go to full extention because it hits the roof of my garage door, but I’ve already got scratches on the car because it doesn’t listen. I also wish they’d have made it “plug in ready”. Purely a hybrid.
