Very happy with my 2025 Santa Cruz SEL AWD in Rockwood Green.

The Santa Cruz pleases me more than any vehicle I've ever owned, and in the last 52 years of driving, I've owned many different vehicles of all types.

I Would Love My Santa Cruz But....

I like everything about the vehicle except the plastic rear quarter panels. They have melted on both sides causing wrinkles in the paint and actual dent appearances. Had the local dealer look at it and they confirmed it was caused by UV rays and that it would not be covered. I went through the Hyundai 800 number for assistance and they directed me to the BBB site. Hyundai has denied the claim and we are now getting ready to go to arbitration. If the plastic Hyundai uses for quarter panels is so cheap that I can't have it outside for fear of melting, I'm not really sure what use I have for the vehicle. Step up Hyundai and back the quality of the materials you use,

Don’t buy it

Transmission had to be replaced before I even had it a year. And the new transmission is slipping. Bad design!

Love it even with a few cons Having to step over the door sill to enter is hard for us old folks. The wife finds the passenger seat uncomfortable even for short trips. The touch screen is so sensitive it’s also a challenge for old people.

Sporty look. Good handling. Good quality build. I was a bit upset within the first month of ownership, as the vehicle is marketed as having a towing capacity of 5000 pounds, but there is no tow hitch. And only a pieced out electrical hookup for the towing. I did get that worked thru, mounted a tow hitch, and a brake controller, which the dealer service department had zero information on . But they did have an absolutely absurd price quote of $1700 to install the hitch. Needless to say, I declined that offer. I feel Hyundai had let down any owners in that respect. Other than that, the vehicle has performed rather well. It’s kept inside, so the paint and trim should stay nicer than a vehicle left outside. Overall a nice purchase, the dealership issue is always a low point in automobile business. I’m not into upselling, and you are constantly bombarded with upsell tactics every visit.

Functional, fun, peppy!

I've owned 2 Tacomas and this 1 Santa Cruz. The Santa Cruz is by far the best truck for my needs as a Suburban Gardener. I have the XRT and love the peppy turbo. The only thing I would have wished for is that it came in a HYBRID. I have heard that the Santa Cruz is being discontinued, so a HYBRID will never happen. TOO BAD! It's unfortunate that Hyundai is not going to have a compact truck after this year (2026). Mistake. There are already plenty of mid-size trucks out there. Hyundai filled a niche with the Santa Cruz.

I really love the Santa Cruz, I am so sad you have decided to stop making it. It is a perfect small pickup for anyone that needs a truck for hauling small loads, and transport a family as well. I will regret not being able to get another one.

It won me over by its cuteness and comfort.

It's important to know that my husband wanted a "truck" for his 80th birthday. Not being a truck person myself, I thought he should have what he wanted on this milestone birthday. I surprised myself that I actually like this truck -- it rates high on my cute scale (and I'm picky) but, more importantly, it has been fun taking some road trips in it as well as the "routine stuff." Fun means we really enjoy driving it around (yes, I get my turn occasionally.)
