I've had the car for a year now, and after the first really rough few months, the car has been amazing. The large battery that came with the car was malfunctioning from the very beginning. It wasn't holding a charge or charging correctly. Once Hyundai figured out that it was the battery, I had to wait a month before the new battery was installed. Very upsetting as I had an ice car loaner and wasn't able to use my home charger, which I had just invested in. Once the battery was changed it has been amazing. Since July there have been no issues at all. It's a great driving car - my favorite of any car I have owned. I had just traded in a BMW 535 for this. It's a pleasure to not have to go to a gas station, especially now that prices are so high. I love that I can get over 300 miles to a charge and fast charging is under 20 minutes. I haven't been to a DC charger in about 8 months since I don't do road trips over 4 hours much at all. When I did it was so easy to go to a Walmart and charge up while I was inside picking up a few things.

I would’ve stayed and got a 2026 ioniq 6

This was probably the best car I had by far - fast charging, decent range and good storage room. Would’ve upgraded to a 2026 if it hadn’t been discontinued

Excellent Car Needs a Few Changes

Powerful, quiet, and handles well. Too many proximity alarms and other warning noises. Location of gear shifter is odd and inconvenient. Door lock/unlock button in center console is extremely inconvenient. Sound system and other dashboard controls are hard to use without looking away from driving. Replace most of them with analog buttons and knobs.

Excellent Car With Great Potential

The car is stunning. It gets a lot of looks but has room for improvement. There’s no physical buttons or knobs for the AC, which makes it hard to drive / use during drives with little to no stops. The fact that the car is close to being discontinued in the US is a bit worrying should it need repairs. I’ve also experienced moments when the car is plugged into a charger and it doesn’t get recognized adding more to my worries. I didn’t know about these issues and other issues reported, prior to my purchase, with a high price tag.

Not much more you can ask for

This vehicle is/was the perfect all around EV I’ve driven and has very little to critique. Let’s get the cons out of the way. I’m a range maximalist driver and I feel like not having the option to opt for 18in wheels on the limited trim is disappointing. I’m in love with the spacious cabin but the hopefully the trunk cargo space could improve down the line by making it an inch more shallow. I think this would be one of the most beautiful cars if the slopped back came down at a slimmer angle at the cost of head space for the back. Last but not least. Fixing the ICCU problem. Thankfully I did not have to deal with that, but my father did for his IONIQ 5. The pros for me are the design, range, power, comfort features, one of the most comfortable rides I’ve ever been in. Great safety features. Expand on smart cruise to truly be hands free like GMs super cruise.

Great Car with some really annoying glitches.

Overall I love this car, its looks are polarizing, but I love it. The build quality seems to be very high. There's not a squeak or rattle anywhere. The speed of charging is top of its class and I love how roomy the interior is. But there are some issues. The ICCU failing is a constant worry. Hyundai needs to redesign and fix the issue once and for all. The interior screen constantly changes brightness, and the headlights are constantly turning off and on. Neither of these have a setting to adjust the sensitivity of that, it's really annoying. My 15 year old Honda could adjust that. I had to turn off forward collision because the warnings would come on for no reason. Id be sitting at a red light not moving, nobody in front of me, and they'd go off. Oh, and who thought a silver bezel around the screens that reflects into the windshield was a great idea?

Overall disappointing

It's not any one thing, but an accumulation of things with this car. Things like the entire media console not turning back on when restarting the car, even after only a few seconds off; the "Consider taking a rest" alert chiming even after only five minutes of driving (and with no way to disable it within the controls); the AWD not engaging when expected; the Apple Car Play only engaging as a hard connect. Little things that take the joy out of driving.

Great except ICCU and Auto Headlight Sensitivity

I love the car for what it is, a medium size, comfortable sedan. Except the ICCU issues, and the rapid OEM tire wear, the only issue I have is that the automatic headlights are WAY too sensitive. In the summer the headlights will turn on/off so rapidly when traveling through single tree shade that others must think I'm flashing my lights at them. It's that sensitive. The only resolution I found was to turn off auto headlights, but that doesn't stop the automatic dimming of the display panels under the same circumstances, of which I've found no solution.

A Great Sedan In Current Year? It's More Likely Than You'd Think!

The sedan market in the US is a consumer nightmare. There's little to no competition, many manufacturers are abandoning their Sedan line up, and the space feels stagnant. When the Ioniq 5 launched, I declared that I loved the pixel styling but lamented that it was attached to an SUV styled vehicle. When the Ioniq 6 was released, I was over the moon and it has not disappointed. While EVs in the US still aren't for everybody and the infrastructure leaves something to be desired, if you're in the ideal market (access to a home charger, lots of local driving and/or highway sprints) this car is a blast. From it's luxury brand body styling, smooth performance, cushy and futuristic interior, generous rear seat space, the Ioniq 6 has a lot to offer. I live in snowy and cold climate, and the Ioniq 6 handles fantastically with ice and snow (as much as a car with limited clearance can), I've taken it on road trips, the Ioniq has not disappointed. Frankly, I plan on driving the Ioniq until the car or I dies, whichever comes sooner.

Great bang for the buck

This vehicle, in my opinion, is undervalued. It is regrettable that this model is being discontinued. It offers an excellent range for its price point, coupled with a smooth and quiet driving experience. My lease agreement was exceptionally favorable, and I anticipate that such an advantageous deal may not be replicated. The automatic locking mechanism, however, presents a significant challenge. I consistently encounter difficulties with the automatic opening function, except when the key fob is in my pocket during a car wash. The vehicle frequently locks and unlocks during washing when the key fob is present. Nevertheless, it does not automatically lock when one walks away from the vehicle. Furthermore, the horn has not functioned correctly. Despite numerous visits to the dealership, the issue has not been adequately resolved, with the exception of a single month of proper operation over a two-year period. I also desire the ability to manually select battery conditioning. Activating this feature is quite challenging and necessitates exiting Android Auto, which is a source of considerable frustration.

Great car horrible tires !!

I love many things about this car but I have had horrible trouble with the tires …. 2 flats and and a new wheel in the first 3 months and 4 new tires because of bad alignment ( though I followed all guidelines for service appts ) at 9, 400 miles !!!!!!!

I love this car

This is my first EV, and I love it. I leased it because it was so highly rated by car magazines, and it has not disappointed. I'm 2+ years into a 3-yr lease, and I haven't had any issues with it besides a couple of minor recall repairs. It's quick, fast, handles well, good range, comfortable, and has good technology. The only thing I'd want more of is range, but I think that's true of all EVs. I got a Level 2 charger installed at my house, so I rarely need to use public chargers. I highly recommend that approach.

Our first electric vehicle is a great choice

The transition from gas to electric was so easy. My vehicle lets me know my range and as well got to understand battery usage, we became more comfortable with longer trips. Range is reduced by about 20% in very cold weather, but we adapt accordingly. The safety technology is superb and becomes more important as we get older. Dashboard layout is easy to understand and seats are very comfortable. Our guests in the back say their seats are also comfortable. Acceleration is great. My only criticism is rear window visibility is a little constraining.
