Hardware OK, software poor

I previously had a Tesla, which had its own issues but the Tesla software was great. I have been very disappointed in the Hyundai software. No walk away lock, no sentry mode, way too many annoying beeps and alerts that can't be disabled, no wireless Apple Carplay, the digital key has never worked with my iPhone (dealer could not get it to work either), lane tracking is only minimally useful because it fails and will drift out of the lane on any non-trivial curve, the UI navigation is in general nonintuitive, and the weird segregation of function between physical buttons and screen is constantly an issue. The char has to be shut off, even though that seems ridiculous -- if it is in park and i walk away and lock the car and the car knows nobody is in the seats, why should I have to turn off the car. Even in the physical button realm there are three different buttons in the car with a P on them and no obvious clue to what they do, other than the Park button on the stalk which is easy to remember -- i have no idea what the other ones do. Other glitches in the UI, once you turn on lane tracking there is no obvious way to turn it off - holding down the same button on the steering wheel that you use to turn it on (which you would think would disable it) does not work.

Love this car

The iconic 6 is great car. The worst part is that Hyundai stopped selling them in the US. I would buy a new one in 2027 if I could.

Great EV Sedan

Drivers well. Enjoy the long range regarding miles. Decent tech for an entry level EV. Very spacious inside the cabin. Fits rear and forward facing car seats well. Really fun to drive in Sport Mode.

Love it

After many years of boring cars, my I6 is actually fun to drive. This is the most important part. The less important parts include far less expensive to drive. I only charge at home, and since getting the solar system installed, the sun covers my entire electric costs.

A terrible car would not recommend it to anyone. It loses charge everyday even when it’s not drive. The sensors are off and I can only listen to my music on my phone when it plugged in. I’m starting to spend 80 dollars a week on powering.

Great EV after owning a Tesla Model 3

All great except a few issues. When in smart cruise control on corners, the vehicle looses contact with the leading car and accelerates. Also, any over the air updates to the vehicle are not well explained and easily accessible. Minor issues for a car I consider the best that I've had.

Great Vehicle

This is such a great vehicle for those who want to experience an EV. Truly one of the best. With that being said, there is a slight gimmick with the sensors on the front bumper where it tells you that you're in a "crash" proximity and the alert goes off, even while waiting at the light. Not sure how to fix this, I've done what I could. Otherwise, great car. Great speed, handling, comfort, etc.

I have had wonder experiences driving my q6 and enjoy the ride. It has a terrific pickup speed and I feel I am taking off a jet plane. So far every is working great. My only problem is is using all the buttons on the steering wheel wheel!

I love my Ioniq 6 -- Sporty, Great Performance, Eyecatching

I absolutely love my IONIQ 6. In fact, we’re a two-IONIQ family — we also own an IONIQ 5 — and the IONIQ 6 is the one that still gets people to stop and ask me about it. It’s sporty, stylish and distinctive, with the kind of sleek design and driving experience I associate with much more expensive cars. To me, it offers a lot of what people like about a Tesla, but at a much more accessible price. I regularly get compliments on the car and questions from people who want to know more about it. I highly recommend the IONIQ 6, which is why I’m disappointed that Hyundai is no longer offering it. I really hope Hyundai brings it back. The IONIQ family needs a sporty sedan, and the IONIQ 6 fills that role beautifully. It gives Hyundai a compelling alternative to cars like Tesla and Lexus. I originally signed a three-year lease with the expectation that I would turn it in and move into an updated IONIQ 6 when the time came. Now that the model is no longer available, I may have to rethink that plan. I might just have to hold on to this gem. The only significant issue I've experienced was a 12-volt battery failure, which is a known issue that affected both our IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6. The charger was repaired under warranty, and I haven't had any battery problems since. Overall, I couldn't be happier with the IONIQ 6. It's a terrific car, and I hope Hyundai recognizes what a special vehicle it has created and brings the IONIQ 6 back to the lineup.
