Great car so far

Love driving it and it is a great road trip car. The only things I don’t like have to do with winter driving. The area under the wipers gets major ice buildup and it will at times get so bad the wipers don’t work, the door handles get ice and snow in them and make it so they won’t retract or are hard to open. The cameras and sensors get blocked up anytime it snows or rains and when it’s snowing the front of the car will get covered in ice and make things even worse because the headlights can be obscured.

Best electric sedan of the era

Before I go into this, I had done extensive research on electric vehicles before attaining the Ioniq 6, and the other vehicles did not have the same features, or charging speed that I was looking for at all. At the time when I acquired this car, it was the fastest charging vehicle in the market for the battery, and even nowadays when I travel with it I am charged and out of the station 80% more of the time than other EVs charging. My battery also tends to last for longer periods of time in comparison to other vehicles I have test driven. The design of the car is super cool, it reminds me of the tuberon, and the fin shape is also a reason why I call it "The Shark" I have surprisingly gotten heads turning especially from kids when I would drive home, a disabled kid even asked to ride in it in my neighborhood so I said sure! It's so unique and unknown at the same time, nobody knows the car, but it's cool enough to look at. Now for the interior it has a lot of cool specs and the design is a bit unnatural, the button for windows is in the middle and actually feels way more natural that way when driving, it also has door handles inside so no worries of a silly button locking you in, and the responsive touchscreen display is fantastic along with the ambient lightning that is changeable through the vehicle, it also brings attention at night, I've had people take pictures of my car and me with the cool lightning, someone asked me about them and I confirmed to them it's all with the car! For the price of the vehicle it out competes the competition of similar sedans of the 2023 variety while still seeming like a luxury vehicle for way cheaper! Now the final problems I have had are the plastic covers in the interior are easily scratched with my work boots, and a horn issue that also affected my wife's 2023 Venue also occured for me, both horns on two different Hyundai vehicles have gone out, and it took a long time to finally get a notice of recall for the horns for the venue, I anticipate receiving one for my Ioniq 6 within the next year or so, luckily I am keen to being a mechanic and was able to replace both horns easily. Besides those this car is excellent, and I have loved it throughout my lease, it is my first vehicle and if they wish for me to keep it at the end of the lease I will hold onto it until it can no longer drive, such an wonderful experience with this car, incredibly comfortable for long rides, and quite capable of road trips.

Disappointing and annoying

Endless annoying warning sounds and randomly triggered safety controls make this car unpleasant to drive

So far…pretty amazing

One of my favorite vehicles I have ever owned. So quiet, smooth and quick. The technology lifts the driving experience as well as making driving more enjoyable and less tiresome. Love both the interior and exterior aesthetic. So nice to pass by all of the fuel stations and have no emissions pouring out of the vehicle. An impressive vehicle for the price.

We love the safety features in our 2023 Ioniq 6, had bad experiences.

Our 2023 IONIQ6 gives us many warnings, perhaps too many. For example, while stopped at a light behind another car, there is this incessant beeping, even if the car is not moving. But on the whole, we feel much safer getting the warnings. Interestingly, there was no warning when our brakes failed, resulting in $15,000 damage, but thankfully no injuries. Another issue, yet to be addressed, is that we bought a supposedly NEW car, but it was actually previously owned. As a result, our Electrify America free charging plan was terminated ahead of the promised time. As I said, that issue has yet to be resolved.

Fun driving experience but poor overall quality

This vehicle was my first EV and was honestly an amazing drive. The zip and smoothness of it all was beyond impressive. It was nice knowing I was usually the quickest vehicle in traffic. It also received many compliments and people asking "What is that?". There weren't many of these in my area. However, the over quality of the interior and exterior of the vehicle was poor. The steering well was made out of the softest fragile leather available. It scratched with a slight glance of anything. I had to have it replaced only a few months in and then the new one had the same issues. I resorted to covering it up with a cheap wheel cover for my sanity. Moving on, the exterior paint might as well been a paint by number. It scratched with the almost no effort and resulted in my car constantly having blemishes. I can't recommend the vehicle to anyone until Hyundai starts caring about more than just looks.

two issues

rearview mirror does not allow me to click it down to minimize headlights reflection in the mirror. It's barely tolerable, and I often just point the mirror down so it doesn't blind me. Also, the take a break warning is annoying because i drive country roads quite a bit. Wish i could turn it off.!!!

Beautiful but not reliable

The vehicle features were nice but in the two years I owned it (brand new), it had to be towed twice, and additionally taken in for 2-3 recalls. The dealer is far from my home and it was very disruptive to my life. The 2nd time the ICCU went out It left my wife and 2 year old stranded at night on interstate. Unacceptable. Hyundai would not help me out of the lease either. Very disappointed in this company.

The best car I've ever owned

I've driven/owned Acura, Honda, Nissan. This is by far the best car I've ever owned or driven. It's a smooth, comfortable drive, so much torque it's more powerful than any other car. It's also really pretty, and the interior is very spacious. I've had the car for over two years, and (fingers-crossed) I've had NO issues with it. It's a great car.

Misleading and not customer focused

Don’t purchase the vehicle if you are looking for a vehicle that is supported by the company. With my previous car which was a Tesla. I was very impressed and satisfied with it.

Comfortable, quick, controls that make sense. Love it!

Very well designed touring vehicle. I drive about 17k miles annually around a major metropolitan city, and the Ioniq saves me nearly $4000 annually in fuel costs alone. At 6'2" tall, do not have to put the driver's seat all the way back, and have head-room to spare. Hyundai has figured out all the tactile details. Great design abounds; even the overhead reading light is just a swipe - one doesn't have to find THE exact button. Great overall build quality. The Highway Drive Assist is beyond. Works SO well - I find myself keeping the lane assist on most of the time. The regeneration system is well designed. I get far above the range estimates using regenerative braking - easily 350 miles of range, sometimes more. This includes plenty of "highway" driving on the freeways in this metropolitan area. Often 4.5 mi/kWh. I have evolved to 1-pedal driving for most of my driving except very slow speeds when preparing to park. Even the single-motor is fun! No oil changes. No brake-fluid flushes. No transmission fluid changes. No coolant system fluid that becomes caustic. Doesn't emanate heat after having been driven and parked. Special, but anyone can figure out how to drive it with less than 1-minute of "training." Love it.

Best car I’ve ever owned

While it’s not a perfect car — the lack of a preconditioning control is annoying — it is easily the nicest car I have ever owned. We chose it specifically because i) it is a sedan, low enough to the ground for my wife to transfer from her wheelchair without assistance; ii) the trunk is deep enough to fit her wheelchair; iii) it has enough range and a great charging curve for road trips; iv) the interior is minimal without being spartan. We have yet to have any mechanical problems.
