Great car, but....

I love everything about the 2026 Ioniq 5 except the fact that with the charging port on the passenger side it does not line up with the Telsa DC supercharger fast charge stations. The only option is to take up two charging spots at the station which seems to upset the Tesla drivers who are also wanting to charge. Hyundai needs to make an extension cable approved for DC fast charge available. Otherwise it is an exceptional vehicle.

I LOVE THIS CAR

The Ioniq 5 is an awesome car! It is so quiet and fast and loaded with bells and whistles! I like the size, the style and just about everything about it. It charges fast and is just a pleasure to drive.

Mostly Awesome only a couple of issues.

Love my new Hyundai only a couple of things I’m disappointed in. I have the AWD Ionic 5. There is no backseat controls for temperature which most of the high end cars have. The other thing is that the car play system is more difficult to navigate than other cars I have rented. Also this model has the parking features but you have to be out of the car for it to park itself. That’s not realistic if you are parallel parking anywhere!

We Love This Car

When the lease on our Ioniq5 was up we leased a 2026 Ioniq5. We loved our 2023 Ioniq5 and we love our new 2026 model even more. It handles beautifully, is very comfortable, spacious, and quiet, has a well designed screen, and a rear window wiper. We like that it can be charged at high speed Tesla chargers, and it comes with interfaces to all other chargers as well.

First EV - Very Satisfied

This is my first EV. I like the fact that the Ioniq 5 has a good mix of screen based and manual controls. I bought the car in June and haven’t used the heater yet, but the A/C is amazing. I like the easy to use manual controls and especially like the 3 levels of auto which provides 3 levels of fan speed with auto temperature. The audio system is also very good. I purchased the SEL for less than $40,000 with Hyundai incentives. I think the car has many advanced features for a car in this price range.

Nice smooth drive but unworkable turning radius, oppressive tech

This car has a comfortable interior and I am happy with the range and driving an EV. I wish I'd gotten a different one, though. They made the 2026 longer and wider, that as a mistake, it feels like a boat. There is really TOO much tech. i do not need a car beeping madly at me constantly, it like having a terrible backseat driver who goes crazy way too soon. I don't need a nanny. Also, and this is the thing I wish I'd realized before I bought it. The turning radius is TERRIBLE. Making a u-turn is nearly impossible unless you have two lanes on the other side. Turning into a parking space is similarly diffioult so if it is tight, forget it. These things would have been deal breakers for me. I wish I'd known. I'm not sure how this compares to earlier ioniq 5 models. People seem happier with those. Finally, the climate control panel on the dash is virtually unreadable when you are driving so trying to change the cabin temperature is hazardous. That just seems such a ridiculous oversight. I usually keep vehicles 10 years. I plan to get rid of this one ASAP.

Nicely engineered but not perfect

Driver assistance software noticeably improved from the 2024 EV6. The seeking of hip appearance through the use of small tire sidewalls makes the ride harsher than it should be. Easy to charge. Peppy

Really like my new Ioniq 5 SEL

Like the car a lot. It drives really smooth, very comfortable. The only area for improvement is A/C flow for the backseat (there are only two small outlets, and it takes quite a while to cool backseat)

Ioniq 5 review

I’ve only had it for 2 months and I’ve had problems with the charging and tire PSI sensors so far. I’ve called the dealership and they were extremely rude. Wouldn’t recommend.

Went from plug-in to full EV

Love the car… wish the dealer knew more and actually answered my questions when i purchased it. They insisted the salesperson knew all about it… he knew the basics and couldn’t answer many questions so I took a chance going full EV. Thank goodness for online communities.
