Faulty ICCU makes this vehicle a lemon.

Fun vehicle to drive with some interesting cosmetics but the vehicle design is flawed. The ICCU breaks down in extreme cold and heat which occurred in the first 18k miles. The lack of a rear windshield wiper is a safety concern. The technology for the wireless charging is already outdated. Customer Service was rarely helpful and have different feedback for the same issue on multiple similar calls. Overall, a bad experience with this vehicle, company and service departments.

We love our 2024 Ioniq5. It has proven to be very reliable. It is fun to drive, extrememly ecomical, since we charge at home. Sometimes it can be a challenge to charge on the road, but we are working on it

Vehicle lives up to its excellent reviews.

Great performance, comfort and ease of use. Display screens are large and very helpful. Took a few weeks to understand all the menus and their locations but after that, no problem. Unfortunately, Hyundai was aware of the ICCU problem and tried to solve it with a recall for software update but not total replacement. The ICCU failed anyway and had to be replaced. Had Hyundai replaced it with the initial recall, it would have saved time and money for both the company, dealer and consumer.

Leadse it for 13 months to try my first EV vehicle & loved it!

Couldnt have loved it more Quiet smooth sailing no issues at all & sad to return it at end of lease but released a 2025 version for 24 mos this time

Some annoying issues

Windshield area are not designed for snow. Seat adjustment unreliable. Child locks problematic. Nice ride

Would not recommend

Hyundai is no longer the company it once was and the value cost preposition is longer there. Combined with no care for their customers and concerns i am sad to say will no longer go back to the brand I use to have for over 20 years

Wonderful car when everything works

This is in most respects a great car but reliability drags it down. Over the 18 months I've had it there's been several issues including a recall for the ICCU, a defective light and rain sensor that needed replacement as well as spurious messages that the electric drivetrain is experiencing problems and to take the car in. I ended up buying my OBD-II sensor to check for issues and codes myself to avoid having to waste time taking the car to the dealer. My confidence in the car is low.

Best car I’ve ever owned!

Truly has been the most fun and most user friendly vehicle I’ve ever owned. The only negative is the ICCU issue and how long it takes to get the part in and fixed. But even while I didn’t have my vehicle for 3 months, I used a complimentary vehicle and only had to pay for gas and tolls (when necessary). Still, even knowing what I know about the vehicle now, I would buy it again and again.

Great car but infotainment features need improvement

This car is a great value. It is attractive and drives beautifully. The safety features are a blessing. I wish improvements in the infotainment system, headrests, climate vents, and of course range.

Wonderful but not perfect

This is a wonderful car with great interior space, timeless design, good comfort but a disappointing and potentially dangerous ADAS. We love the range and especially the outstanding charging speed.

Great car, service/support lacking

Fun to drive, great features and interior.... I would have like wireless connection to Apple CarPlay. The service experience has been spotty. The company does a poor job with supporting owners with known issues.

Nice Car

I like almost everything about the car. Rides well and drives well. I like the safety features and the 360 camera. Two things I don't like. The rear window gets awfully dirty and there is not wiper. I know the 2025 model has a wiper, but the 2024 should be retrofitted with one. It's a safety issue. Also, the turning radius leaves a lot to be desired. Very difficult to park in tight spaces.

Great car, needs more physical buttons

Love the car. Trying to, e.g., turn on or adjust the A/C or heat is tough when you have to touch a smooth screen while driving. Need more physical, tactile buttons + knobs (which I think was improved upon in the 2025+ MY)

Great car for cheap lease payment

Overall, I actually really liked my Ioniq5. It was roomy, quiet, and had a lot of pep. The range was more like 200 miles to be safe, which was fine for most uses. For a cheap lease payment of $400/mo plus free charging it was worth every penny

Great car with a few quirks

While my Ionic5 had a complete breakdown of its steering system, causing a minor accident, it was replaced and repaired. This was a very rare occurrence. I am keeping the car after the lease is up, so my confidence in it remains high and I enjoy the drivability, comfort and convenience it provides along with all of the extras a non-electric car can't offer. While adequate, travel distance requires planning on a longer trip and I am looking forward to future vehicles with extended driving range in the near future (keep up with the Chinese, please). My pet peeve is a sometimes oversensitive warning system where sensors will detect cross traffic while sitting at a stop light as something to alarm you about.

Unreliable ICCU

The vehicle rides nice and we like overall design, specially how spacious it it. But - charging could have been better; often feels like i only have ~200 miles left - dashboard could be higher - I have 4/5 ICCU breakdowns, i wished hyundai had tested better !
