Great experience

Love this car!

We love the IONIQ 5! There isn’t anything to complain about and that’s the truth! Smooth ride, modern design, easy handling the whole 9! The Ioniq 5 is highly recommended! We installed a level 2 charger at our residence and it charges the car in a few hour. It’s my daily driver. So far, costs $30-$50/month to charge!

Dealership had the car we wanted, excellent to deal with

We like the vehicle very much. Smooth drive, looks good. There are so many electronics, it takes time to learn them all. Some features we would have liked to have were only on the top model which was a not worth the extra cost.

Review on the IONIQ 5

I love this vehicle. It's the first EV we've owned and to drive it is very satisfying. It does have some quirks about it that can be annoying. Sometimes the lighting just "Dims" on the control panel for no apparent reason. And the display for the climate control (especially the AC) is not convenient. Or the Temperature just seems to change.

I would recommend the Hyundai Ioniq 5 to anyone that is interested in a total electric vehicle. It is very roomy and comfortable even for a large person. It has a lot of power and is very quiet. The cruse control works great and makes long trips a pleasure.

Everything is awesome!

Everything is awesome with the exception of an annoying steering wheel sound after first week of driving, hoping Hyundai has a fix for this. Also will note battery life and range is inline with what Hyundai claims which is great!

Best car I've ever owned

We feel so lucky to have been able to get our new 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5. Availability is extreemly limited to we are so grateful that our local dealer, Morries 394 Hyundai responded promptly when we made our inquiry and allowed us to put a deposit on one of their allocated units. That was on April 6 and we drove our new car home on May 13. That was a pretty fast turn around and included the same day fix of a recall that threatened to delay the delivery of the vehicle.

Amazing Ride with 1 faulty part

The Ioniq 5 SEL is an amazing car. We absolutely love it. It's quiet, the sound system is great, the screen is easy to navigate, and we love that there are actual buttons for the most used features (heat/AC, fan speed, radio, media). There are few things to know before you buy one though. 1. We bought our Ioniq 5 on May 11, 2022. Less than two weeks later the passenger side door handle stopped retracting into the door and sticks out even when the door is locked. Since not every Hyundai dealership is "Ioniq 5 certified" we have to take it to a neighboring state to have it serviced and to *hopefully* get the door handle fixed. The wait time just to the first appointment is 3 weeks. 2. We bought a RWD Ioniq 5 because you get better mileage on the battery than the AWD and we don't live in a place where it snows that much. The mileage that is advertised is 303 miles on a full charge. That is really only possible if you drive in stop-and-go traffic, the temperature is warm, don't exceed 50 mph and don't use the AC at all. The real world mileage is about 240 -- real world being sometimes we're on a highway and going faster than 50mph and using the AC or at least the fan. All of that said, we love the car and don't regret buying it. It charges fast, has great acceleration, very smooth ride, and we love the look of it. We were also happy to be getting the $7,500 federal tax credit, which we'll get in April when we do this year's taxes.

Positive EV experience

Some drivers are skeptical about the transition from gas burning vehicles to EVs. Although a family member had a negative experience with an early introduced hybrid, I welcomed the opportunity to own a full electric vehicle. Though advance purchase research gave me confidence as to the finer points of EV selection and ownership. The Ioniq 5 pretty well met all the criteria I deemed important and necessary: range, styling, interior cabin space, and comfort. The styling of the Ioniq 5 is simple and understated. The battery's range hit the sweet spot of 300+ miles and the speed of charging is similarly effective & practical. The rear wheel drive SEL is no slouch, providing acceleration that exceeds my needs and should meet the needs of 99% of drivers. The vehicle understated exterior appearance belies the interior space, far better than average leg room, and overall passenger comfort. It's been a great experience thus far.

Excellent all around car in a moderate price range

I love this car. Replaced a Ford Explorer so needed room but didn't want a gas guzzler. Not *quite* the space but deceptively spacious and very functional. For passengers the space is excellent and superior to most up to 4; a 5th fits leg and head wise but a bit narrow. Trunk space with seats up is solid; with back seats down is enormous for the class. SEL verision is nice price point for good features though sometimes have Limited-level envy. That said, lighter colored seats are perforated and stay cool in heat/sun which was a major reason for me to jump to Limited level (ventilated seats). RWD model is not rip-roaringly fast though in sport mode it does have some nice punch. I also have a 2022 Tesla Model 3 Long Range. By comparison that car is a rocket but for the most part it's almost too much torque (to the point where I almost don't trust myself). This car is juuust right (though sometimes I wish I had the AWD; that said sport really does make a difference and you burn up very little extra battery just leaving it in that mode). Love the looks, kind of aggressive/modern but with a throwback vibe. Range on RWD is very good for class; while not quite Tesla Model 3/Y, it's better than most. Charges really quickly at a 150KW charger; I've been told that on 350KW chargers (mostly along interstate out here) it's super quick, like 20 min. to go from 20-90%. At home on Level 2 takes maybe 6 hrs. to go from 20-80%. All in all checks so many boxes and at least at this level with Tesla prices skyrocketing it's almost a no-brainer. I find it far more comfortable than the 3/Y as well, both to drive and to sit in. And it looks sooo much better.

Overpriced

Overpriced, the dealership charged me a 10,000$ mark up, And they say for getting financing at 3.9APR, you have to pay 10,000$ more. A complete ripoff at puente hills Hyundai . In other words, if I consider buying a new car. I will Never go to puente hills Hyundai again

Nice car but my climate control doesn't work and can't be fixed for months.

The car looks great and for the most part I like it. However after just 5 days, the climate stopped working and I was told that it could not be fixed because the parts are on months long backorder. With temperatures averaging in the mid to high 90s, I cannot drive the car during the day. It's just not safe as internal temperatures are sometimes over 100 degrees (!).

I bought this to replace the gas guzzler I was using, It has done a good job in doing that for me. With a home charger it is very easy for me to always have it ready to go. It is very enjoyable to drive.

Great looking car. Comfortable

Fun car to drive. Styling is very unique. Not boring. Good leg room. Not thrilled with the amount of mileage you lose by turning on the air conditioner. The base model for $50k should come with a remote for the hatchback door.

Very comfortable, quick EV with phenomenal safety features

The Ioniq 5 is one of the best EVs out there at the moment. It is very quick, very comfortable, handles bumpy roads particularly well for an EV (or other heavy vehicle, much, much better than Tesla’s Model Y and Model 3 do), has a good and accurate range, and depending on the trim, has really great active safety features rivaling those of high end luxury cars, and beating them in some areas, like the blind spot camera view right in the instrument console, and active blind spot monitoring in the heads up display. The infotainment is very intuitive, and easy to use while driving with most items you’ll need to modify while driving within close reach and still doable with buttons rather than a screen. The Limited trim has heated and cooled front seats and heated rear seats. It is very luxurious, and is a pleasure to drive. If you want something slightly more sporty on curvy roads, it’s Kia EV6 twin is a great option that gives you that, but is very slightly more bumpy on rough roads. But the I5 is more comfortable, more luxurious and more spacious, with an insane amount of interior passenger space for a vehicle of this size. Charging is extremely quick, quicker than my previous car, a Tesla Model Y, using the same Tesla charger with an adapter. It’s not perfect, but it’s very close. Areas for improvement are adding a rear windscreen wiper, wireless rather than wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and perhaps dedicated buttons for the heated and cooled seats, although one button gets you to the screen where these are located.
