Great Luxury Car - Not a Great Support as a Luxury Brand in USA

I dropped one star not because of vehicle. It is everything you expect from a Luxury brand. But customer service is really poor. It seems like Genesis has no serious plan for US market. Both dealers in my area share their technicians with Hyundai and when you take the car for service. They treat is as a Hyundai Accent!! They damaged my brand new car during service and dealer repainted my brand new rims. Genesis Consumer Affair representative was horrible at phone and she did not care about my issues with dealer and took forever until I picked up my car from dealer. I owned BMW, Porsche, Audi luxury cars before and Genesis service in Houston was horrible experience for me to the point that I’m afraid to take my car to the dealer for future services. I will not recommend Genesis to my friends until Genesis USA ups their effort to build a brand. Just like Lexus their Japanese competitor that made the brand completely separate from Toyota in US market. First step is to force dealers to be completely separate and don’t share space and technicians as both Houston dealers are in the same space as Hyundai dealer.

The internal audio has been an issue since I bought the car

Vehicle Cellular service has been poor at best. Rest of the vehicle has been pleasant surprise.

Lot of car for the money.

This is our Second Genesis, first GV 70 and it has been an excellent car with just a few very minor problems. So overall we will probably be looking for another new one next year.

Poor Service

My headlight has condensation inside of it and my air conditioning went out. There was no loaner vehicle so I had to rent a car. They had my car for a month and the headlight is still not fixed. It took at least 3 weeks to get reimbursed the $1800 I had to pay for the rental out of my pocket. I like the looks of my car, but will not recommend Genesis to anyone due to this and won’t buy another. No working with the service to make it right.

I LOVE my car!

This car looks great, is comfortable and is fun to drive. Although the car has plenty of "get up and go", I love that if you need a little bit more, you can switch the car to sport mode and it will TAKE OFF when you step on the gas. I get a lot of compliments on my car and I think they are well-deserved because it is a beautiful vehicle. Although I don't drive a ton of miles a year, the car has been reliable. The only downside I've experienced to owning a Genesis thus far is getting it serviced. There was a recall, which is fine, but it took well over a week to be completed (after promising that I'd have my car back the next day) and the service department was terrible at communicating. I expected more from a higher end vehicle dealership.

Disappointed in quality

Vehicle rode and handled great. Too many maintenance issues: had two recalls & several body repairs needed before the vehicle was two years old. Not related to vehicle quality I had an issue with the service department having body issues repaired.

Love My Genesis GV70

The GV70 is comfortable, excellent display and interior features, the full sunroof is beautiful, and plenty of room luggage and storage in the trunk. A+ for the comfort features such as heated seats and steering wheel, air cooled seats, trunk opens by standing behind it and not needing to find a spot to kick under it like most vehicles need. The cruise control, lane and steering assist are great features, and buttons on the steering wheel are easy to navigate. Some things I would change-counsel cup holders are small and only fit a standard can or small water bottle size, and door areas barely hold a can. Most vehicles now have multiple slots or areas to put things like additional phones, umbrellas, lip balms...just stuff. The GV70 is lacking in this type of storage space. The shift dial is made of a material that gets super-hot when sunlight hits it. Even in the winter it is hot to the touch, in the summer it is unbearable. Some of the voice commands for things are not intuitive and it takes a while to learn what to say to voice control systems.

Great mom car!

This car is the perfect family car. We are a family of three, and this car is the perfect size with all the right features to make traveling with a LO easy. The ability to control the passenger seat from the driver's seat is such a small but useful feature, and don't get me started on how amazing quiet mode is!
