Genesis G70 Review

My car currently has 750 miles on it. It has already been towed twice to the Dealership for repair; took a week to get replacement part each time. Same issue both times - car was leaking (spewing) radiator fluid and overheated. First repair did nothing to fix issue. Second repair seems better but I can still smell burning radiator fluid. Honestly, I don't trust the car.

Genesis G70 Review

My 3rd G70 since 2019.

I do not believe the quality at Genesis is getting better. It's seems there is less care and little or no planning on creating a "great" G 70 vehicle, just a good one. Everything I see leads me to believe that Hyundai wants me to buy a more expensive model (G 80, GV 70, etc.) to get what I once received in the G70 for a fair/affordable price.... customer service has fallen off...(NOT from my dealer...they are great) but from the company itself. I hear from employees all the time that Hyundai is a good car but the ownership in Korea is really not interested in customer opinions, especially from America. Finally, it took 3 weeks to get an "over-the-air" update to my navigation system. That is simply unacceptable.

My Error

Because of my age and physical abilities, I opted for entry level model. Having owned Genesis models since their inception, there is a huge difference between the G70 I now own and my previous upscale models. If I have the opportunity to purchase another vehicle, I will return to the upscale model.

Beautiful and fast but small changes would help.

Trunk - extremely small. A small Kia K5 has 15.5 cubic sq ft. The Genesis G70 is only 10 cu ft. Rearview and side view mirrors automatically darken at night and cannot be turned off. It should be optional. If a car with bright lights is behind you and you want to turn it on then press a button as I did in my Sonata. I like to see other things around and cannot see anything when the rearview and side mirrors are automatically darkened at night. Cubby hole for keys, wallet, food, etc., would be nice, especially with a cover as I had in my Sonata. Speedometer - Should be incremented better. One small area from 60 to 70 and 70 to 80. Should have 65 and 75 notches which is much easier to gauge your speed. Android Auto - need to plug in your phone. The Bluetooth works without a wire but not Android Auto. GPS - one reason I bought a Genesis was for online map and updates. It's a joke. The construction updates are not incorporated into navigation and taken into consideration for the best way to drive as is done with Google Maps. GPS - Voice delay. Extremely aggravating. Have missed many turns due to a constant delay in voice commands being relayed. This is completely unacceptable. Side pockets - stupidly small. Will only take an extremely thin water bottle and even that is difficult to get in and out and does not hold much. I liked to store a large water bottle in the door out of the sun and not in the console. Car looks beautiful and handles well. For some reason will rev without power which I don't understand why. Comfort controls - very confusing. Temperature gauge which you rarely change is by a knob. This knob should control the fan. The fan is very cumbersome to adjust while driving and often I find that I have accidentally turned on the heated steering wheel, or vented seats, etc. Also if anything bumps the panel these things will be turned on.

I am very impressed.

Ive only had my car for aprox. 1 month.The tech features , performance and build quality , makes the entire automobile represent one of the finest automobiles offered currently .Some highlight: Heads up display.Interior look and feel, multiple cameras, a mode selector that really enhances the features.If the car remains reliable, then its a close a perfect a a company can build!
