Great Sporty Sedan with Luxury Appeal
The 2025 G70 is a great sedan for the money.
The drive modes allow you to change your driving style on the fly, choosing between Eco, Comfort, Sport, Sport+, and Custom. I generally use Eco with some Sport thrown in occasionally. Eco provides the ability to coast when the road is rather flat or downhill, increasing fuel economy. Sport mode makes the gas pedal more responsive with the suspension a bit more rigid. I’ve learned sport mode is not good at commuting speeds; the transmission tends to over rev (not redline) when not giving it everything.
This car performs! It is incredibly fast when it wants to be and sticks to the road like glue.
The seats are very comfortable and have a lot of customization for driver comfort in terms of positioning. Heated seats and steering wheel are something I’m never going to be able to give up. Ventilated seats take some getting used to, but are a nice to have overall.
The rear view and side mirrors are one of the most noticeable upgrades when driving other cars. They have an auto-dimming feature which is honestly the only way to drive a car that is lower to the ground. The side mirrors have a feature that tilts them down when you are reversing that makes backing into a parking space a breeze. I believe they are always programmed to tilt down if you have the mirror selector switch in the left or right position (not center) when reversing.
The wipers… why reinvent the wheel here? The auto-sensing wipers do not work. Every time I use them, no matter the sensitivity setting, they start off slow the increasingly speed up until they are full blast. There is no way to set them up for intermittent wiping; it’s manual (up), Auto, On, or Fast. About a month in it was raining pretty hard. I had the wipers set on Auto, they turned up to full blast and the drivers side wiper ended up breaking loose and flopping around against the side of the A pillar. After that, I got the wiper fixed and coated the windshield in RainX. Now I rarely have to use the wipers.
The air conditioning and heating work very well bringing the cabin to temperature rather quickly. The only complaint I have here is the 3-stage Auto button for fan speed work 50% of the time.
With all that being said, I do love the car. It looks gorgeous, it feels fun to drive, and it doesn’t break the bank to drive in luxury.
