Luxury In Reach

This is my second Genesis (went from a G80 sport to a Model 3) and we've really loved it. Needed a car with the same 'footprint' as a Model 3 to fit in a small garage spot and was lucky that we could upgrade back to a more luxurious ride, with a similar ev drivetrain. The GV70 is not without little things I'd like to change, but they're minor enough to not be worth mentioning.

Beautiful Car, Short Battery Life

Overall, the car is pretty good but the miles per full charge aren’t enough to make this vehicle practical for my life. Would like to see some of the bugs worked out and a few more features.

Like it so much we bought a companion G80 EV

Traded a Volvo XC90 T8 Recharge for the GV70. The Volvo was an unreliable, ill handling beast, with a really nice interior. So far, the Genesis has exceeded expectations. It gives up nothing to the Volvo on interior quality, while also being faster and better handling. Reliability is good so far. Really no complaints other than the front passenger seat should have the same massaging and ergonomic adjustability as the driver. We shopped vehicles for several months and were disappointed to find that nearly all manufacturers remove amenities from “smaller” SUVs. There are only two of us needing regular transport, so don’t want three rows and a behemoth size vehicle. We DO want really nice heated, cooled, massaging seats, impressive vehicle performance and dynamics, as well as all other available options. Small SUVs from Mercedes, BMW, Volvo, Cadillac, Audi, Lexus were all inferior to their larger offerings. That basically leaves Genesis GV70 EV and Porsche Mayan EV that “get it”. The Porsche is really nice, but let down by an instrument cluster binnacle that gets blocked by the steering wheel, so as to obstruct things like vehicle speed. (How do manufactures not see these obvious oversights?) As such, we ended up with the GV70. No regrets. It feels like they really sweated the details. We would purchase again and highly recommend.

Pretty but not well made

Opening closing door creates cheap sound like hyundai pony. Handle movement create noise. No massage function for passenger seat and driver seat does not get to choose to start massage.

A magical ride!

Best car ever! All the comfort and economy settings are great for managing range. The “boost” button is always fun too! I love the leather seats, sleek looking interior design, and all the speakers make it a luxurious ride!

An extremely good vehicle

I absolutely have nothing but goodwill when it comes to this vehicle. I'm well pleased with almost all aspects of this model. If anyone asked, I would always recommend it. I've been very happy with it.

Not the best Genesis I've owned

While my 2024 GV70 Electrified is not the best Genesis vehicle I've owned, it is still very worth the money. I've come to expect damn-near perfection with Genesis vehicles, but this one has a few issues. First, the finishing details are lacking, such as glue runoff on the bottom of inside door panels. I never had that in the previous two Genesis cars I owned. The latest issue I've experienced, and I have brought it to the attention of my Genesis dealer, is that my temperature units setting infrequently changes on its own from Fahrenheit to Celsius on its own. The dealership had no answer for this. There is also a slight rattle in the front passenger door that cannot seem to get corrected. Lastly, as an EV owner, I wish the range on the GV70 was better. I cannot get anywhere close to 200 miles on a single charge, even if charging to 100%. Granted, I do tend to accelerate quickly and drive fast, but hopefully a new battery platform is in the works to improve range. Even with these "shortcomings", I would still recommend Genesis over other brands such as Audi, BMW, and Mercedes.

My 2024 Electrified GV70: Luxury EV Done Right

Just wanted to share some thoughts on my 2024 Genesis Electrified GV70 Premium after several months of ownership. This thing is an absolute joy to drive. The ride is smooth, quiet, and seriously comfortable—exactly what I hoped for in a luxury EV. The cabin feels roomy and well thought-out, and I love that Genesis didn’t go full touchscreen; having real buttons for basic controls is such a win. The heads-up display is super useful, and the ambient lighting gets compliments all the time (it really pops at night). I’ve taken it on a few longer trips—Portland to Seattle more than once, plus a few beach runs—and range anxiety hasn’t been an issue. In the summer, I’ve squeezed out up to 265 miles on a charge, which beats expectations. Charging is quick and easy to find along the way. The Boost button is pure fun—it turns the car into a rocket for those quick passes. That said, it’s not all perfect. The Genesis app is about 80% reliable and pretty slow sometimes. I wish I could remote start without going through it. The recall process through Genesis global support was a headache (took three days just to get a tow), though the dealership itself was top-notch once they had the car. Also, I still can’t figure out the remote parking assist—it’s not as intuitive as it should be. My only other nitpicks: the hands-on-wheel alerts feel unnecessary for such a polished assisted driving system, and the proximity trunk feature could be smarter (waiting through 5 beeps while holding heavy stuff isn’t ideal). Overall though, I absolutely love this SUV. It nails comfort, performance, and everyday usability with just a few tech rough spots to iron out. It’s quick, classy, and makes every trip feel relaxed and effortless.

Love my Genesis E GV70!

I love the way the car handles and the interior is wonderful. My only complaint is that the Car Play can be fiddly and the units change from imperial to metric regularly.
