2018 Tahoe Z-71 good not great
My 2018 Tahoe Z-71 was bought new off of the lot in Ravenel SC. I love the size, 4 wheel drive, the 7500 lb towing capacity, leather seating and protective skid plates. I have a little less than 85,000 miles on the vehicle. However, have spent around $5,500 on various failures. 1) The air conditioning condensing coil had to be replaced a month after the three year warranty expired. Cost $2000. 2) Next the computer that governs cruise control and ABS failed. Cost $2,500 plus. 3) The wheel sensors all went bad at about 60,000 miles cost about $500. Today, I had to replace a bad master cylinder. Cost $550.
A good friend of mine’s last three vehicles have been Toyota Forerunners with 4wd and he said has never had costly failures like those listed above. The Chevy Tahoe has an advantage in size and features. However, the Japanese Toyota Forerunner beats the Tahoe hands down for reliability.
