2003 911 C2
I have driven a few different Porsches and at the end of the day, i just wanted something that looked modern. I was considering a 997 or a 987 Cayman. Even though a thought of a well balanced Cayman sounded great, when i drove it, it lacked the power i was looking for after coming from a Turbo car. When i drove the 997, it was a bit too modern and the interior made it seem to touring for my liking. The silver plastic pieces really stood out. My buddy owned a 996 C1, which i drove and didnt like that either and wasn't a fan of the first series fried egg headlight. The C2 was just right, it had the updated headlight. It has the updated motor with more HP/Torque and the interior (in all black) looked good to me. It hid most of the round lines and without looking at the radio, it flowed just fine to showcase a vehicle of that age. The door panels are my favorite. The drive is what i fell in love with. I have never driven the C4S as i heard it was heavier and the Turbo i heard was a bit scary at full boost, the C2 gave me the raw, analog feel that fit just right. From the moment, i stepped in and gunned it up the pass and around the corner, the feel of the car, the power and the grip of the steering wheel made me think i could own this car forever. If anything, i told my fiance i want another! Yes, i wanted circle headlights but for a vehicle that pretty much came out to defy performance and saved Porsche, if you get the chance, hop in for a drive an make the decision after. I believe pristine examples of this model will start to appreciate as they are true 911s. Hope this information helps!
