Solid second hand car
We bought our car second hand. It had a few problems, which I have been sorting out so it doesn't become a money pit. It's an idiosyncratic car inside; you need to learn where the controls are and what they do because the switches are all alike and grouped in strange ways. That said, that's part of the car's charm. Newer Minis move the window controls to the door, and although I'd prefer that, more of the things that make the car a Mini are going away. The car's steering is great - very direct. The ride is Teutonic firm, you will come to know what sort of gravel is used in the hotmix of every road surface. It crashes over potholes, so avoid rough roads if you can. On well made roads, this is a driver's car. It will fit in any car spot and doesn't use much gas.
