Hybrid Tucson does not hold charge for more than five days

I love my Tucson. It drives great and gets great fuel economy. However, when I go out of town (without the Tucson) for more than a week, the SUV does not start when I return. I must get a jump start. This does not happen with my brother's 2014 Mercury hybrid. I have taken it to the dealership. They claim it was the alarm they put on the SUV prior to sale that was not disconnected. Funny. Gone eight days and no charge remaining.

Almost Perfect

I always feel comfortable sitting in my Tucson Hybrid. Seats are very comfortable. Things I would change: have memory mirrors in addition to seat, rear directional lights at a higher eye-level, and larger, larger taillights.

Communication breakdown

Took car for oil change Thursday. Oil change was complete but service found a leak in the oil filter housing. Said part was ordered & could be done next day. I left the vehicle. The next day Friday, I called to check on progress. The associate from the day before was unavailable, I was told, I left a number for call back it was about 12:30.. Heard nothing. Around 2:30 I called again, was told associate was unavailable, I asked to speak to a manager, he was unavailable. Left my number never heard back. Now it’s Saturday. Called to get an update. Associate not available, manager, unavailable. Decided to just go get my vehicle, now I’m pissed. On the way to get my vehicle I finally get a call & I’m told the part was delayed & wouldn’t be in until Monday told the person I was on my way to get car now. I picked up my car & considered taking it to another dealership. I called them & told them the story they said they’d have to run a diagnostic before they could determine the issue. I ended up taking it back to Dundalk to be fixed since they already had the part. I read the reviews on service for this location and found dozens of similar issues. All that was necessary to avoid this situation was a simple call back as a courtesy. I worked in customer service for an insurance company for years. All a customer wants to know is that they are not forgotten. Also, you use to get the fluids topped off & car washed as a courtesy, don’t get those now either . The very day I picked up my car it notified me that my windshield washer fluid was low & there was a possible recall on the tow package. I got this car March 2024 and at the time I took it in, March 2026, it had 6,200 miles on it. The only reason I bought Hyundai was because my fiancée insisted I buy hybrid for gas mileage and the warranty. My car that was totaled was 2018 Rogue & Nissan Rogue didn’t have a hybrid Rogue any longer.

Quality is a little less than I expected.

The weather seal for the front door leaves a lot to be desired. From getting in and out the rubber seal is wearing out and in fact it has torn in one spot.I brought it to the attention of the Sales rep and he said its not covered under my Extended Warranty I bought. My car has only 20,500 miles on it. Mostly used for daily trips around town so getting in and out are frequently used more than average I would assume.

Great car!

This is a great car! The gas mileage is really good, it's spacious enough for me on the inside, it's not overly techy (although techy enough for me!), music is great, lots of great options/features with this car, it is comfortable, etc. I haven't had any real issues with it at all and I've had it 1 1/2 years now.

Overall, I love my vehicle! There are a few things that are irritating though. One is the backup beeper which to me should be an option. I haven't been able to find anything in the books I have where this can be turned off. The other thing that is irritating is that sometimes when getting into the car, I unlock it by using my hand on the front door latch. However, when I go to open the rear door, it remains locked and sometimes almost impossible to unlock, even going through the same procedure several times. The last thing I haven't gotten used to is when the steering wheel has a slight pull one way or the other, usually when going around a curve. I love the quick acceleration!

A year in and we’re still enjoying our Tucson!

I moved from a 2016 Tucson to the 2024 Hybrid and it is a big upgrade! The cameras are helpful and a hybrid makes a big difference

Great gas mileage!

I really like my Hyundai hybrid. There are some small annoyances on the interior. Why would you put cup holders in the door to accommodate no cup I have? Due to my short stature I find the length of the seat somewhat uncomfortable, I have to have the seat far more forward than I have in any other car I’ve had. I love most of the technology. Great screens, however it would be better if you had a physical volume knob for the audio. Connecting to my phone is outstanding and so easy to navigate the controls through the screen. Love love the heated steering wheel and ventilation for seats. A+ on hot days. I’m still learning about the features but like all the technology. Moderate size “trunk” area it has a cover installed to hide purchases, of which I haven’t used, but a nice feature. Not too much of a fan of the auto liftgate. I prefer the kick method better. Looks nice going down the road and headlights are very bright at night. I wish the moon roof opened further, it only opens for a standard size opening while the glass goes fully to the back of the vehicle. Great on snowy roads and gets around fabulously in all conditions. All in all I like the vehicle and am glad i purchased it.

Good comfort. Good features/options. Good interior size/room. It would be nice to have higher height on the rear tail gate opening. Quiet ride. Good gas mileage, but highway mileage is somewhat lower than expected around 31-32 mpg max on 70 mph flat interstates. But with proper weather conditions I can get up to 38+ mpg around town and shorter trips under 50 mph. I had two issues. I experience a loud engine knock/rattle starting at 2,500 - 3,000 RPM. Noise seems like it is coming from under the dash of the passenger side. It does not occur when revving while the vehicle is not moving. This is very annoying and occurs about 90% of the time. I took it to the dealer (with a video) and they said they could not recreate it. The 2nd issue is that I'm slowly losing engine coolant. After 18 months (from new), the coolant was under the "MIN" line. The dealer filled it up in January and now I noticed it is back down to the "MIN" line again (mid- April). I smell coolant at times after turning the vehicle off, but can't find any evidence of a leak on the vehicle or under the vehicle. The dealer was not able to find any leak either and when inspecting, the odor of coolant was not present.

Black beauty

I really like the look of this vehicle and get many positive compliments. The car is enjoyable to drive and has comfortable seating and leg room. It has ample cargo space. It is loaded with extras that would have cost much more in another make.
