NOT in Love With This Santa Cruz; Disappointed

The truck bed gets REALLY wet when it rains because Tonneau cover needs a better seal. Took vehicle to Allen Turner Hyundai to check seal on tonneau cover; cruise control concerns; forward protection not working when I get too close to other vehicles; Santa Cruz sometimes telling me to connect to Bluetooth and my phone shows Bluetooth is connected to Santa Cruz but SC won't open up. I was very DISAPPOINTED with the service I received at that Hyundai dealer. Initially, it took a while before anyone came to assist me. When the person came out to help me, he never introduced himself. It felt like I was a bother to be there. When I started telling him why I was there, he commented that I had a "laundry list". Before I walked in the building, I commented about him not introducing himself and noted his name tag said Justin. He seemed aggravated that I said I would wait instead of taking the shuttle to my home as I had initially signed up for over the phone. Once again, it felt like I was a bother based on his negative response. Justin said it could take a couple of days to check all of the things I went there for and I told him I was spend the day there. In what I thought was a short time, Justin returned and told me all of my concerns were invalid because they checked the SC and everything was operating as normal. It was also noted on my paperwork that this SC did not have the forward accident protection (can't think of correct name at the moment). When I questioned Justin about the notes, he suggested I go back to the dealer I bought the SC from and have them look at it. I was in disbelief. I HONESTLY DON'T THINK MY SC WAS REALLY CHECKED OUT. I later received a call from someone at Allen Turner Hyundai asking about my experience and I shared all of my DISAPPOINTMENTS with her (don't remember her name). She said she would share my concerns with the manager and have him call me. Of course, I have not heard from anyone else since then. Some of the safety features I thought I had and was the reason I purchased this SC, doesn't seem to be available. VERY DISAPPOINTED!

Vehicle is alright but lacks the punch you would expect from a turbo. The lack of buttons makes everything require touch on the screen that leaves oily skin residue all over it and a constant cleaning

Drove it 4000 miles and now they don't know what's wrong with it.

I bought my 2025 Santa Cruz in January 2025. In March in was making a strange vibration so I took it in. They've had it 3 weeks. No one knows what it wrong or how to fix it. So it just sits there. No one calls me, so I just keep extending the rent car they say they will reimburse me for once the design engineers figure out what is wrong. Warranty Customer Service transferred me to another department that is over the buy-back program, but after waiting 4 days to hear from them, warranty called me back to say they pushed me back over to them. Warranty has now kicked me back over again, "escalated", whatever that means. Not sure how to feel. I haven't been treated badly really, but feel like I could be treated better certainly.

Not a cold weather vehicle

Vehicle is constantly displaying dash amber warning lights at temperatures below 30 degrees. Tailgate freezes shut making the bed useless as it is a TRX with locking tonneau cover. Ice forms around gas cap inside the gas door. In warm weather I have had no issues, below freezing all of the electronic safety features and the security and convenience of the bed area are wasted.

Transmission issues

My 2025 santa cruz had 860 miles when the transmission would not shift into 2nd gear 25 mph @ 3000 rmp it slammed into gear the first time it happened and the second time during the same trip it would no up shift. I had it towed to the dealer and they said that there were no error lights on the dash so they can't diagnose the issue. They told me that shutting off the vehicle and starting it was the fix first and issue like this. They drove it 17 miles and it wasn't an issue. Has anyone experienced anything like this? Seems like they are admitting there is a problem and the fix was a restart, but not officially confirming there is an issue. My question is if I am merging into traffic and get t boned because of this is it their problem?

This is the best car I have ever owned.

This car handles beautifully. Because of its size I feel safe driving this car. This car is extremely comfortable and therefore a pleasure to drive. If for some reason my car became no longer drivable I would purchase another one just like it.

The vehicle is the best of both worlds

This is my second Santa Cruz. The first one did not have all the features I wanted. I camp solo and my 22 Santa Cruz pulled my 18' Jayco camper beautifully. I expect the 2025 to tow even better since it has a tow mode and a front camera. I do have an electric brake controller installed in the truck and a weight distribution hitch for towing. The back end with the tonneau cover is great for storing my camping stuff like my small fire pit, BBQ, chairs etc. My Santa Cruz also drives and rides like a car. It is very comfortable and smooth. I also like that I do not have to climb into it like I would a regular truck that is higher.

Seems to be a lemon and can’t rectify an electrical problem to trailer harness, been over a month dealer has had my vehicle and can’t fix . My 2025 vehicle isn’t the only Hyundai that has rear electric problems to the hitch

Good looking truck

Comfortable dependable. All the features I need very economic. Smooth ride safety features are very important it feels save when I drive it I would recommend this Hyundai Santa Cruz truck to anyone that is looking to buy a truck .
