Not what I was hoping for

Was great until the new wore off now I am regretting trading my other vehicle in for a car payment this high for a lack luster truck

Love the Santa Cruz - Dealership not so much

The vehicle is everything that I thought it would be. Like the way it handles, access, controls and over all appearance. It would have been a great experience if the dealership was not so hard work with. The first salesman did not listen, could not find the vehicle, and also did not return phone calls. I contacted Key Hyundai after 8 to 10 days of not getting responses. The General Manager actual talked to me connected me with a sales manager. The second salesman was very good (Freddy Duran). But the dealership could not find the second set of keys and the sales manager was rude. The finance manager was very good and went through everything with us. We also ordered and bed extender that took some time to come in, and when it did, it had deep scratches into the metal and showed sliver through the paint. A second sales manager told me that if I accepted the bed extender, they would refund me $250. It has been over a month since the last meeting and I have not seen a check or an email related to the money.

Great small truck

Fun vehicle to drive, truck body is small but works when needed ( like hauling 4x8 sheets of plywood) On long trips interior is fairly quiet and seats are comfortable. Santa Cruz has plenty of power in passing. Dash layout could be better. Would love to have multiple screens with phone, map, radio, clock and compass, but it’s not an issue as is.

Stylish pickup for people who do not like or want a pickup truck

The limited is powerful, very handy, seats 4 comfortably for long drives, has great tech (with one caveat), and looks cool

Disappointing

My first new car! Disappointed.... The electronics has spoiled my new car enthusiasm. Auto lights do not come on when overcast or raining. Why bother with automatic lights ???? Extremely agitated with "consider taking a break" feature. It is random and dangerous. It comes on during high traffic situations and keeps on every 3 or 10 minutes. There is no way to turn it off . II consider this a defect in the electronics department. I drive other vehicles with this feature and no alarms sound. So it is NOT my driving habits. I plan to alert the vehicle consumer agencies about this crazy "safety" hazard. I am also suspicious of other electronics as this one example is so concerning . I don't trust any of the other electronics on this vehicle. This vehicle is not equipped with WIFI. Unexcusable. I need to use my phone to access WIFI. Other brands of cars offer WIFI. I was not informed of this before the sale and did not even consider asking. Assumed it is standard in 2025. Unhappy.... Since this statement will be reviewed by AI, I do not expect any satisfaction from HYundai. Another strike .

Santa Cruz has been my favorite vehicle for 3 months now.

I spent a full year looking at and into the Santa Cruz and finally decided to take the plunge. It is a beautiful vehicle and does so much that I wanted and more. The color and form is wonderfully pleasing to the eye and the display and infotainment system is easy to use and clever.

Nice, but missing safety issues

First, this thing rides great. Second, it's very comfortable and spacious for me. The only downside is safety issues in my opinion. 1) it does not have forward Adaptive Cruise Control, Advanced Forward Collision Avoidance, 2) the warning system on the forward camera is atrocious. I've tested it with the dealership and my son. Test - running 35mph and coming up on vehicle in front of me and having to hit the brakes hard with no warning sign/sound. Dealership couldn't figure it out. I was a Quality Control Engineer for several manufacturing companies for 10 yrs. I know the cost on parts that go into vehicles, and for a few pennies on the dollar, why would you have to only include safety features like this on any higher model vehicle. It should be standard on all variants. Oh, and as for the rear camera, at night it is also atrocious. Even with my changing the back up lights to LED's, it's still dark as hell. That said, these are the only issues with my SC. Everything else is great. HYUNDAI, please note these issues for everyone's sake.
