2026 Gray Metalic Palisade for a retired professional cowboy 🤠

My family loves this SUV, its a very comfortable car for six adults. It even pulls my sons motor cycle trailer with ease. The options are amazing, after five months I am still learning about the options. This car is incredibly safe, it helps you avoid accidents. The first day commuting to work a Tesla slammed on his breaks in the middle of a four lane freeway. The Palisade stopped on a dime . Amazing mid size suv, test drive one than you will see.

Love the car, poor customer service

I enjoy my new Hyundai Palisade HEV. You get a lot of value for your money. However, the experiences I have had with the Houston area dealerships has been disappointing. You don't feel valued as a customer. I'm also disappointed in the recent software upgrade to fix the seat recall. One of the features I enjoyed so much was the one-touch seat folding/unfolding and the ability to control them from the infotainment screen. The remedy rolled out to consumers feels like it was just a quick fix without considering the best solution. I am hoping there is another, better thought through, update that restores some of the functionality that was taken away initially with that update.

Palisade is my new favorite!

I am loving the Palisade. The only thing I would love to see change are: 1.The stereo control should be on the left side of the steering wheel. It's very awkward when attempting to control the cruise control on the left side and the same for controlling the stero on the right. 2. The push start definitely doesn't belong on the gear shift, I have hit the start stop switch several times attempting to hang up a call. 3. The final thing is I really wish all Palisades were equipped with the panorama sunroof, to me that panoramic view is the epitome of class which the Palisade exudes...but that added feature would be a bonus.

Luxury that is TOO SMART

This car is luxurious but has too many bells and whistles that are not quite fine tuned. The seats are the number one complaint. The way they move is unpredictable and not helpful. Even with all the software updates, Hyundai cannot get it right. The lane assist is off. The collision warnings are way too sensitive. They alert you to the lines on the road or they think a construction barricade is a car. It hard breaks for absolutely no reason. If there is a person 100 feet away, it will slam on the breaks and think you are going to hit them when your are going less than 5 MPH. I would give this car back if I could. I have a hybrid that is getting the same gas mileage as my regular engine Kia Telluride. Not worth the extra expense.

Packed with several of features

This is a great vehicle packed with several features that usually you can only find in more luxurious vehicles. The drive is very smooth and quiet especially on the EV mode. The hybrid is for sure a big plus for gas savings especially during this time where the gas prices skyrocketed. Great redesign outside and inside from previous generation.

Overall a great vehicle with some minor inconveniences

We bought our 2027 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy new. We've had the car for almost 5 months and have about 5,000 miles of both city and highway driving. Love the car! It is comfortable for both short trips around town and for long trips on both highway and gravel rads. The cabin is very quiet. It comes with all the conveniences and perks one would expect in a high end car. The 4 rating is driven by some small inconveniences/preferences. The owners manual doesn't have an index, making it difficult to find a specific topic. The on-line versions are indexed but not the hard copy. The infotainment system is black with white lettering, a color scheme I do not like. I figured out how to change the map, but can't get the entire infotainment screen in any other color. It has a full set of climate controls but the buttons are small and the lights hard to see in bright sunlight with sunglasses on. I have to take my sunglasses off to see if the AC or heater are on, and similar small inconveniences. The liftgate doesn't close when using the key fob or the liftgate button, opens fine with both but won't close. Probably a setting someplace in the system but I haven't found it yet. Overall I recommend the vehicle. Be prepared for some minor frustrations with the controls and systems. My understanding from others who have purchases loaded new vehicles of other brands is that these issues are common.

Functional luxury

I love the space and extra features of our Calligraphy edition but even the base trim has above-average offerings. My wife loves this car also as she fell in love with it as soon as we jumped inside at the dealership. She finds it much easier to drive than our previous 2015 GMC Acadia which was actually a little smaller. I'm not 100% sold on the exterior looks because there are other vehicles out there that more suit my particular taste but I did not judge based on that alone because aesthetics are always subjective. There are some things I would have done a bit differently like the DRLs which well-designed but massively oversized. And Hyundai has always been on the bold/futuristic side in its design language so you have to expect some extremities heading into that dealership. Overall, I'd rate it 9/10 and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a slightly larger than mid-size SUV with a gorgeous interior, great driving dynamics and responsibility in fuel economy.

Great but sub par on MPG

I have the Palisade Calligraphy Hybrid, white with grey interior. It is very luxurious with a lot of amazing technology and features it rides smooth however it took about 2500 to 3000 miles to get broken in. I don’t love the restrictions they added with the recall for the rear seat functionality. My biggest gripe is that it’s supposed to average combine 30 mpg however my avg mpg since owning it is only 26 mpg. I drive in Eco mode and I don’t have a heavy foot so I would expect to get at least the average combined. Outside of that, it’s a very lovely vehicle to own.

Palisade Calligraphy: Luxury Feel Without The Luxury Cost

I bought my 2026 Palisade Calligraphy on the last day of 2025 after months of research and test driving various three-row SUVs. I am a long-time Toyota buyer and still love their vehicles, so the biggest competition for this Palisade was the 2026 Toyota Grand Highlander Hybrid. I also looked at Kia, but the real decision came down to the Toyota or Hyundai. My overall impressions of the Palisade Calligraphy match what I had read about and had seen in speaking with car reviewers. This is a very luxurious vehicle without the luxury price tag. The biggest differentiators between this and the Grand Highlander Hybrid are the innovations that Hyundai has made in their SUVs while Toyota has made very few new changes or innovations. The Grand Highlander SUV cost more than the Calligraphy but had fewer features and a much less luxury feel. The warranty from Hyundai beats Toyota's hands down as well. This is important to someone who plans to put 100k+ miles on a car. The only aspects of my Calligraphy which I would rate lower than the Toyota are engine performance and transmission performance/feel. Toyota has the engines and transmissions done pretty well perfectly, with the right amount of power and the incredible smoothness of the transmission throughout all the gears. No pulling, no over-revving, no clunking between gears. So smooth you never think about it. And Toyota has no equal when it comes to the efficiency of their hybrid engines. My Palisade has issues with very jerky acceleration from a standing stop, especially on uphills. I drive the car extremely carefully and with fuel efficiency in mind. No racing, no jackrabbit starts. All as slowly and smoothly as possible. But the car doesn't shift very smoothly and definitely over-revs starting on an uphill slope from a stop. It's very bad in that regard. And the fuel efficiency is still nowhere near the claimed numbers. With over 3600 miles on the car my lifetime fuel efficiency is 28 mpg. Again, while driving slowly with all thoughts on best mileage. The only other nit to pick is with the electric folding second and third row seats. It's way to complicated, and seems to have changed how to do it. I really dislike the way the seats have to be adjusted. It's unacceptable for this to be so difficult. Other than those two issues, everything about my car is so much better than I expected and definitely better than the Toyota. I am extremely happy overall with the Palisade Calligraphy and have already recommended it to family, friends, and co-workers.
