This vehicle makes me want to drive!
This is my first SUV. I used to drive a Hyundai Elantra for 10 years. I love this vehicle. The new 2026 model was larger then its predecessors which prompted me to purchase it. It sits a bit higher up then the older models and its somewhat similar in size to the Tucson. I love all the bells and whistles that come with it. I never had alot of the features before so I am like a kid in a candy store learning everything about it. I enjoy driving in this vehicle because I feel safe in it and its very comfortable. The heated seats are a game changer when you live in Ohio and this winter has been super cold. I love how the car hooks to my phone effortlessly after initial setup and can listen to Sirius XM and use my navigation program. If my phone gets low on a charge, I can set it on the wireless phone charger in the console. Another game changer for me is to be able to start my vehicle up from my phone and/or lock the doors in case I forgot to do so. Oh, and if anyone is wondering, I was pleasantly suprised to see a spare tire comes with the vehicle under the cover in the back. (I know alot of new vehicles do not come with one now a days) I really do not have any major complaints about this vehicle. If I had to nitpick about a few things, I would say this:
1. I wish it would come with heated steering wheel (it does with highest trim but that price is 4K more then the second highest trim which is what I have)
2. I also wish it would have an auto back hatch opener instead of manually opening it. ( I think this feature is also on the highest trim)
3. I love the back cameras and the side vehicle sensors but wish it had a front sensor in case you pull into a parking spot and get too close to a car. (once again, this might be available in the highest trim)
4. The cargo net for the back is not real practical in my opinion. It should be like it was on the Elantra where it drapes along the back not on the floor. I purchased a 2nd cargo net off of Amazon and hooked it so it stretches the back so when you open the hatch, nothing falls out)
5. Lastly, if you are looking for a larger area in the back, I would recommend upgrading to the Tucson model, otherwise the Kona is a great vehicle if you do not need a ton of storage
Like I said, the above list of nitpicking is just that. Overall I am very happy with my vehicle purchase. What I will say is that if the highest model was just a bit cheaper or if the above amenities could be purchased seperately, I would have paid a bit more for them.
