Drive Motor

Drive Motor blew after only 10mo. It was covered by warranty of course but still sketchy. Range significantly lower than estimated.

Kona review

I am very happy with my Kona. Has good comfort and handling for city driving, which is what I use it for. The only problem I faced was Bluelink failure about a month after purchase, which was corrected by a visit to the dealer.

Great car, terrible controls. Get rid of the screen. move controls away from the touch screen. Screen is Unsee-able during bright sunshine.

Great little EV

I enjoy driving my Kona electric. Good acceleration and braking. Great driver assistance at this price. Some of the UI controls are annoying. Especially long time from start button to podcast listening and hard to find features.

Good at first, but ultimately a waste of my money

I loved this car... for like 2 or 3 months. I bought it brand new, and I drove to Washington and back twice, which was obviously a little harder given the range and charging locations, but it was fun. After that, it was just issue after issue. One of the fuses in the engine would just blow out of nowhere at any given time. Whether I was giving my girlfriends mom a ride or if it was literally on the way to the dealership. This car ended up making me more miserable than the car i traded in for it. I always wanted an EV, and I would NEVER choose this one from literally any other option available.

The ride is bumpy and the seats are uncomfortable. The actual mileage per charge is not very good I wouldn’t buy another

Good car for the city .

My KONA EV has been a pleasure to drive in the city. I can fit my car in tight parking spaces. It has good breaks to stop and turns easily. Making a U turn is no problem. It is more sophisticated equipment than I am comfortable using, but I can drive at a level that I need.

Great car. Smooth and fast. Just a few complaints

Overall, I really enjoy my Kona Electric Limit. I love the dash and interior layout. The car has plenty of power, accelerates so smoothly and is quiet while doing so. In the summer I regularly get over 5 miles to the Kw. With just shy of 15K miles, the car has been practically problem free. The safety features are top notch. We recently purchased a new car from a different company and I like the Kona's safety features much, much better. All that being said, I have had one recuring issue; unlocking via the door handle. Sometimes it works great. Usually it doesn't react to my grasp initially and I have to move my hand around to get a response. I complained about it at my 8K maintenance and the dealership replaced the handles which seemed to fix the problem for a while. But now, 7K later, it has returned to being an issue. Other minor complaints: while quiet it would be great if the wind noise was less prominent, why do the front collision sensors alarm while the car is in reverse?, I'm unable to read the climate control panel while wearing sunglasses, the auto-headlight sensor could be more sensitive (they are slow to turn off when they aren't needed), there is no enclosed storage under the front center armrest. As I said, just minor complaints.
