Electronic Glitches are ruining this car.

I have been driving my Ionic 6 for over a year now and since day 1 I have had problems with the front sensor array alarming for no reason. I have had it back to the dealer at least 4 times for the issue and am constantly being told that they "cannot recreate the problem" during their test drives, but it happens every day when I am commuting to work. I have taken (and provided) videos of my repeatedly being stopped in traffic with nothing moving around me when the sensors will falsely alert (red, yellow, green, driver's side, passenger's side, middle - all at different moments). I have repeatedly dinged my reviews and questionaires from Hyundai about this only to never hear anything back. This is incredibly disappointing from a car company who supposedly has very high ratings from JD Power, etc.

Fun and Fast but not reliable

The car drives very well, is fast and has lots of safety features, most of which work as they are supposed to. The car has had 4 recalls and the charging unit has failed, it feels like it is in the shop more than it is in my driveway, which keeps me from giving a full throated endorsement.

Loved until it broke down and I was told 4 months to get the part

Rides really nice, good power, great safety features. Looks good. Everything was going great until 2 months in when it broke down and I was told it would take 4 or more months to get the part (integrated control unit).

Solid EV for anyone

Solid car, reliable, and hits most of the needed spots for a car in its class. I think the trim levels could be adjusted to reach peak trims and luxury to price ratios. I would like to see more customization from these stylish cars and possibly more features.

Goodby internal combustion engine.

I love the car, especially the smooth acceleration and deceleration. Holds the road great. The printed manual is useless. Took a while to figure out how to access many of the features. The non-screen controls on the dashboard are an excellent feature. CarPlay is a little buggy. The wireless updates wipe out the pre selected radio stations—annoying. After the last update cruise control went off s couple of times for no apparent reason. Proximity warning (radar) appear for no apparent reason esp when stopped in traffic. Wind?

I love this fun little car!

I want to be able to afford another one when my lease is up! This car is so fun and reliable. I love the fun features and it is amazing for work. The backseat has an incredible amount of leg room for a small car-even my 6’2” husband fit! The drive is great and “pick up” is awesome-especially in sport mode.

Best car I've ever owned

The Ioniq 6 is more fun to drive than any car I have ever owned. The ride is smooth, acceleration is brisk, the interior is comfortable and well laid out, and the satisfaction of driving by gas pumps for the rest of your life is immeasurable. I drove several EV makes prior to buying the Ioniq 6, and it had the smoothest ride of all. Probably the biggest downsides are poor visibility in the rain and small trunk space. Interior space for driver and passengers is excellent with plenty of head and leg room all the way around. 14 months into ownership I have had zero regrets!

Changed to the ioniq from a Volvo ev and didn’t know what to expect but I was really impressed with the car and range, much better than Volvo. Quality and price are outstanding glad to have chosen ioniq

Best vehicle I've ever owned

I love my Ioniq 6, after a year, I've put way more miles on it than I thought I would, because it's such a joy to drive. The EV charging networks are built out, and I've taken a 2,000 mile road trip down the west coast on I-5. By the time I'm ready to stretch my legs, get a coffee, or use the bathroom, after having driven for 3 hours or so, finding a charging station is no problem. The car charges from 20% to 80% in about 17 minutes. Often times that's not even long enough to stretch my legs and get back to the car. For all the benefits of driving and EV, the work of charging the vehicle is a great tradeoff. The car is safe, roomy, efficient, fast, comfortable, and it was affordable. I take the car up to the mountains, I've bought cargo from Home Depot, Ikea, and Costco with no worries, thanks to the huge back seat and the length of the car. If I sometimes have to wait for a charger, it's ok for me, because of all the benefits of owning an EV. This is just a great car. Anyone that has worries about charging or other issues, if you are willing to give it a chance, you will find it's a great tradeoff to spend a little more time "filling up" for all the benefits. If you can install a Level 2 charger in your house (meaning, you have enough capacity to install a new 220 volt plug), it becomes a total game changer and you almost never have to charge in public, you just wake up in the morning, the car is ready to go. If you have to charge using Electrify America or other networks, this is the fastest charging mid-price vehicle on the market today, as I mentioned above. I love his vehicle, and I enjoy driving it ever time I get in it.

Favorite car of everybody in the family

The Ioniq 6 immediately became the entire family's favorite car. Fun to drive, quiet, plenty of room for passengers, and enough range to make longer road trips workable. Our only complaints are that the driving assist sensors sometimes fail out for around 5 minutes at the beginning of a drive - we suspect fogging - and that wireless Android Auto isn't available, only wired. Overall, though, we love it.

Nice car to look at but think twice about owning one

The Ioniq 6 is a nice looking car, super fast (too fast!), and one of the nicest looking EVs, but looks are deceiving. It supposedly has a long range battery but in reality, this is a vehicle for short trips in town. You can watch the power drop significantly while you drive. Sure it charges to 80% in 20 mins, but what they don’t tell you is that there aren’t enough charging stations throughout cities/ counties/ state to charge them. If you happen to find a charging station, you better have time to wait an hour or so just to connect. You can get the L2 charger at home but they need to provide it as part of the car. It’s not feasible for everyone. So now I have a car that sits in my driveway because charging it is such a hassle.

Feels like a spaceship on wheels

I've only had it for a month, but it's like a spaceship on wheels. The technology is top notch, I love the HDA and safety features, and range is great. It is a very comfortable ride, and if you're in the market for an electric car, I think this beats a Tesla or other competitors easily. The only downsides are that the sunroof is a little squeaky (a common problem with Hyundais), and the trunk is very small. Also the turning radius isn't great; it's maneuverable and zippy, but it turns like a boat. If you want more room, an Ioniq 5 is probably a better choice, but if you're a sedan person, I think the Ioniq 6 is much better than the Ioniq 5. Don't know why the appearance is so polarizing; I think it looks cool. Having a home charger makes an electric car 500% more convenient, but the 2 years free with Electrify America is a great sweetener (assuming you have EA chargers in your area).

Outstanding EV, good value, excellent build-quality, handling, and range.

I purchased a base-model Hyundai Ioniq 6 EV 3 months ago. The car handles beautifully, and typically exceeds the EPA-rated range on a full-charge (I often see an estimated range over 300 miles on just an 80% charge). The car charges FAST and the range estimates seem accurate and are constantly updated depending on driving conditions. The car has a ton of power when needed, and changing modes from Eco to Normal to Sport or Snow is easy with the button on the steering wheel. The interior of the car has a welcome set of actual physical push buttons, although I'd prefer that the climate controls were also physical push buttons rather than on a touch panel located below the physical push buttons (which are for Map, Nav, Media, tuning, etc.) - at least climate settings are also accessible through voice command. The vehicle is a bit short, making it a little challenging to get in and out of, particularly when the driver before me (my wife) has set the driver's seat high and forward. It would be nice to have a feature that retracted the seat to its lower and rearmost position when shutting off the ignition. Electric charging is easy (although I wish I had the NACS standard plug rather than the bigger and bulkier CCS charging plug). The car charges well on a home Level 2 charger (Anker brand 32 Amp charger). Charging at the (free for 2 years) Electrify America stations is easy, though in my community, which has a lot of EVs, these local chargers are often all in use (sometimes hard to find an available charger).

Ioniq6 drives well, has plenty of room and high range

I leased the Ioniq6 based on Monthly cost with little research but I have been pleasantly surprised. It drives very well, It is very comfortable for 5 passengers and range is very accurate. The build quality is great and the ride is solid. I was also impressed with the sales transaction. The sales transaction was exceptional. Over an hour was spent going over every detail, menu item and setup of the car.

Car is a great entry to EV market

Car is a great introduction to the EV market. Fun to drive. It has a great look. Haven’t dealt with snow yet, but assume that with all wheel drive, it will be just fine. Very happy this far with my purchase

2024 Hyundai IONIQ 6

Purchased a 2024 Hyundai IONIQ 6 as a replacement for a vehicle that was totaled in an accident. It is my first all electric car. I have previously purchased and still own another hybrid. It has good range. I only charge to 80% which gives me about 250 miles. Had level 2 charger installed in my garage for faster charging and so I don't have to charge daily.

Beautiful car.

Great styling, inside and out. The passenger cabin is really roomy and comfortable. The layout of the interior controls is great. The range and driving experience and both top notch. Even in eco drive mode the car is peppy and not at all sluggish.

Great ride and range

The vehicle is a great drive. It is quiet and comfortable. The build is tight with no rattles or wind noise. The range is fantastic with the 18 inch wheels; I am getting much more range than the EPA estimate.
