Very pleased all around!

I'm very pleased with this car, and the minor but important upgrades from my 2024 model. Faster charging, rear wiper, upgraded electronics, solid build, and the driving experience are all terrific. I like using my iPhone to operate the car. The short list of issues is completely offset by the overall quality features of the car.

Hyundai does not care.

I bought the car. two weeks later it was towed. 3 weeks later, it was confirmed the battery need replacing. Same codes came up when it was towed away. Now, 6 weeks later, there is still no battery. No word from Hyundai throughout the process. Dealership was useless.

I chose the Ioniq 5 over the Tesla model Y

Having driven a Tesla model 3 for several years, I became accustomed to the convenience and nearly no maintenance of an electric vehicle. I had ordered a Tesla model Y to replace my model three and was several days from delivery. I decided to take a look at the Ioniq 5 and the moment I closed the cabin door during my test drive is when I was sold. The quality and comfort of the Hyundai exceeded that of the Tesla model three. I’ve had the car for five weeks now and it provides a very comfortable ride. Hyundai doesn’t need to follow the lead of Tesla on a number of items including elimination of a big bulky key fob whereas Tesla integrates your telephone directly into the car eliminating the need for the key fob. Hyundai also needs to stop modifying the drivers preferred and selected choices related to regeneration and braking. The car continuously resets itself even though the driver has selected specific driving preferences and does not remember those preferences once the vehicle has been turned off. A major design flaw. Tesla vehicles do not reset themselves after they are turned off and this one should not either. The Ioniq 5 wins on comfort and the 800 V charging capability,but hands down, Tesla beats the pants off of them on the technology.

Great car, but for...

I like this car. I had a 2024 I-5 and now I'm in a 2026, both limited trim. My 2024 had no major problems, the 2026 had an ICCU problem. The phone charger is crap. The only thing it really does is make the phone hot and barely, if at all, charges. I turned it off.

Excellent car for the price

I love my Ioniq 5. It handles well, has sufficient range, better than most electric cars in its class, and has good visibility and safety features. It is very comfortable.

This is my second I knocked five I had a 2024 as a perfect vehicle. The only downfall that I see with this vehicle is the blue lights in the AC controls. You cannot see the controls during the daytime.

I have never loved a car as much as my Ioniq 5.

This is the only car I have ever been excited about. I love the way it drives, the fact that it uses no gas, the layout of the dash and the roominess of the rear seat. It is exactly the right size for my use and its range is capable of doing almost all the trips I regularly drive.

I drive often but not very far. This car is great for getting safely around town. It’s comfortable and has a boatload of safety features. Easy to charge with at-home charger.

Good ev

Very good looking vehicle with ok range. Have had it for about 4 months and 6k miles. It has been a pretty good ride so far. The look of the car is what ultimately made me buy it and I was also looking for an ev. I believe Hyundai have the best looking evs on the market. They do offer more features than their competitors and the charging speed is great. It takes about 20-25 min to get me back to 80% from 10-20% because most of the time the charger isn’t giving me the full 350k. Really fun car to drive and it’s really smooth. Although, if you like music the speakers are pretty bad. You have to crank it almost to max to get a good kick from the speakers and I got the limited which should have the “premium sound system.” The car rattles sometimes when I’m driving and it can be pretty distracting. I thought I left something in the back but then I realised it’s just the car. The range can be better. Comparing it to its competitors the 84 kWh battery it has is in the middle. If you don’t drive much this car will do the trick, but if you drive a lot like me you’re plugging it at least twice a week and if you don’t have access to a lvl 2 charger it can quickly add up and feel like you’re paying for gas when using primarily fast chargers. The turn radius also is pretty poor and I wish it would do at least another half turn after cranking all the way so trying to fit in a tight spot is more challenging. Finally to address the elephant in the room the iccu. Fortunately for me I have not had any issues but I was plagued with anxiety when I saw online how many people had this issue. I hope I never run into this problem and if I do I hope Hyundai does a good job of taking care of it. This is my first Hyundai I have ever purchased, and could potentially be my last if the iccu ever goes out, so I can’t really vouch for the reliability of the car long term. But so far at 6k miles it has been great and have had no problems with the vehicle.

First 5000 Miles of 2026 Ioniq 5 Limited

We are 1st time EV owners and 1st time Hyundai customers. We have been very impressed with the vehicle and the manufacturer's input to the design and engineering. We have less-than-impressed with the dealer, but since we have no prior experience with Hyundai dealers, they may be as good as they get. The strengths of the vehicle outweigh the shortcomings of the dealer.

I love the fast charging and the internal styling!

I found fast chargers faster than Tesla, which only charges at 325 or 350 Watts. There are 400 W chargers out there. You can barely finish your milkshake before the car is charged.
