Nice car

We like most things about this car: nice design inside and out. What we don't like is that entering through the front doors is a akward and difficult. there is no way to pop the rear hatch from inside the car, the environment controls, e.g., fan speed, temperature, are hard to see and use.

Great car, bad planning

I got a nail in one of the tires (dead center) before my odometer showed 1700. I called the dealer and he said that only thing he can do is to replace the tire. I think it's ridiculous to replace a brand new tire for having a nail in it. I was told to take it to Discount Tire or Big O Tire if I didn't want to replace it. I had to take it to Discount Tire, and they fixed it, but they scratched and chipped my brand new wheel. What's done is done and now I ended up with a brand new car with 2 wheels with chipped paint and deep scratches. Hyundai had to do a better job of providing assistance on resolving a problem that can occur periodically, and can't just push out to a 3rd party for resolution, especially for a brand new car that costs $50K. Very irresponsible and unhappy, and wouldn't buy or recommend another Hyundai. It's a shame for such a great car.

Charging Beast

Good amount of range for long roadtrips, especially now since Tesla Superchargers are available (less distance between chargers, typically). Charging is superior, especially at a 800V station. Still very fast on a 400V station. Very good (4.5) mi/kWh in traffic, decent (3.0) on highways. Brake pedal blending is bad, takes a lot more depress to stop the car than to slow it. 1-pedal complete stop is too slow, need to use the brake pedal or crawl to a stop, defeats the purpose. Volume knob is too close to the “driver only” button and I keep hitting it without meaning to. Google Maps integration is horrible, it doesn’t always recommend the closest option, it doesn’t know numbers when using speech-to-text, not intuitive to find things (i.e. end of trip battery life, switching between time remaining vs. time of arrival, etc). Highway driving assist works well. Windshield is horrible when raining, rain blurs the windshield instead of forming drops and running off. Automatic headlights are too sensitive, turning on in broad daylight when passing a bit of shade. Gear changing requires a hard press of the brake pedal, electric cars shouldn’t have an issue shifting before stopping? Would like to see automatic locking when stepping away from vehicle.

Nearly Perfect

The 2025 IONIC 5 brings a new level of refinement for the model. It looks great and performs astoundingly well. It's sporty yet practical, and this year's model offers some great improvements, including a rear wiper, new dashboard software experience, and improved miles per charge. It drives effortlessly, feeling more lithe and nimble than previous years. I love it.

Ioniq 5 EV of the future

The Ioniq is slick looking and appealing overall. The range is one of the best features. The comfort for driver and passenger is very high. The dashboard control center is not as intuitive as one would hope.

Car Great, Dealership not so great.

My overall experience for the first two months with the car has been very good. A big challenge is that the dealership has no clue on how to help with questions about the vehicle. They refer you to You Tube. One of the reasons I leased the car was that the salesperson said I would be entitled to a $400 charge credit with ChargePoint and gave me the paperwork so I could enroll. When I contacted Hyundai to enroll was told the offer had expired in July ( my lease is dated September 11th. ). Contacted the dealer and was told they had nothing to do with the offer and I should contact Hyundai. Very disappointed in the dealer response in passing the buck.

I like it

I like the look I like the style I had no intention intention of buying one until I saw the interior and I was sold. Definitely have concerns about resale value and just a couple minor things outside of that I really like it.

It’s got all the bells and whistles

It has all the safety features I need, wireless Apple CarPlay, comfy seats and decent materials. Not many HP but it’s an EV so all the torque you need is right there. My only complaint as a tall man (6’1”) is that I wish the steering wheel telescoped out just a little bit more.
