Great EV

Love my EV as it is great for us who only do short trips around town and have a garage with a charger. It is the perfect vehicle as it has all the safety features and is so quiet and smooth on the road. Comments I get back from folk is that it looks so great.

Great car, with the most minor things I would change.

Lots to like: very adjustable seats, visibility is very good, charging works well, range is great and estimated range is very accurate, A/C works pretty well, very adjustable regen braking, MANY settings make it easy to customize almost everything, sound is great, and app has all the main features, including a handy car location and map, you can have 2 main drivers each with their settings as well as a guest with their own settings. A few things could be improved: the app can control charging, but requires a lot of clicks to find what you need. The app doesn't work that well to find charging stations (this may reflect the fact that too many companies now provide charging). The help on the app is fairly useless -- it just refers you to the manual, which is enormous. While the car has many settings, that can make finding what you want to change a challenge. The trunk is smaller than we expected because the back seats have plenty of room -- it is a trade-off -- we wouldn't want the car any bigger. The trunk in the front is quite small. The backup camera works fine, but the car lacks side cameras, so it can be harder than other cars to see around you. The control for Drive and Reverse are near the control for the wipers, which can make for mistakes. The key fob is ENORMOUS and includes an external key, so it is hard to fit in a small pocket. Some cars tie the key fob to the driver, so you don't have to choose that when you get in -- that would be a very useful improvement. The interior lights aren't very bright and can't be adjusted. The kids lock for the windows & doors in the back seat is easy to bump with your arm -- it is on the driver's arm rest and should be moved. Bike rack: you really can't use one that clips onto the back, you really should use a tow-type bike rack.

Affordable luxury with techy pizazz

I LOVE this car. It's speed and agility make it an absolute blast to drive. The interior feels like a futuristic spa- complete with beautiful views and built-in ambiance music. And my crunchy soul loves knowing that when I'm blasting past minivans in my new age cocoon, I'm not burning an ounce of fossil fuels to do so.

Loving my IONIQ 5

Love this car, the way in performs and drives in curbes and mountains. It is so very quiet. Seating is super comfy. It is a learning curb and the end result is excellent. It can use some improvement in the touchscreen department .

Drives Fine but Lacking in Technology

The Ioniq 5 provides a smooth driving experience with good suspension and responsiveness. As an owner of another EV, the Ioniq 5 is lacking in integrating technology with functionality in the car. Individual drivers can be identified, however there is no connection to recognizing and installing individual preferences. Route guidance is OK, but not great. The technology in the Ioniq 5 is similar to a 2014 Lexus SUV we previously owned. Not what I expected.

Overall great vehicle

Great vehicle, hopefully once my lease is up I am able to get another one with the same payment as they are getting rid of the EV credit.

Very good.

AC & other characters illegible in sunlight. Symbols, numbers, etc should be larger. I have good eyes but find dashboard and other features hard to see. Owners manual could use a more detailed index, one index which includes all items in the manual.

Love it...would like to see a few changes

Love the car...very comfortable, performs well, and has many well designed features. There are a few features that seem like they should be standard on this vehicle - for example, having the car lock automatically when you walk away from it, and having the car know which driver is in the car from the key fob. My husband is much taller than I am, and if he is the last one who drove, I can't reach the pedals (and I need to press on the brake in order to start the car, after which I can select the right profile and get the seat to scoot up for me). So to start that whole process, I have to slouch way down in the seat to start the car. It's very annoying. And the controls for the fans and temperature are illuminated with blue light on a black background, which is nearly impossible to see if you're over 40.

ICCU failure stranded us on the side of the highway with a bricked car

ICCU failure completely destroyed our trust in this vehicle. This issue is commonly known (search for "ICCU failure ioniq") and still hasn't been fixed in several years. We hoped it wouldn't happen to us, but it did.
