I've had a loaner car half as long as I had my leased Ioniq 5...

I loved the car when I had it... but I haven't had it since December. I've barely had the lease a year now. And I have no word on when I'll get the car back.

exceeded my expectations

Car performance is excellent. Sometimes media system is a little clunky. I wish the car had could memory for seats, mirrors, etc for each driver. Rear wipers would also be a plus.

Absolutely crazy fun to drive!

I've owned lots of cars but this one has been one of the most fun ones to drive. It's awesome on a long road trip... So comfortable and charges fast. The quality is a bit lacking... Have a persistent rattle from the trunk lid that they can't seem to fix even though there are service bulletins advising how to do so. I also recently got stranded at work at 1 year and 18k miles due to bad 12v battery... Thankfully because this is a very well known issue I planned ahead and purchased a higher quality battery a few months ago. Mine is on lease and I'm on the fence whether I'll keep it or not.

Almost perfect

I love my Ioniq 5! It's fun to drive, plenty of power, and it handles well. The interior is very roomy and comfortable. There are a couple of things I would improve if I could. First, it needs a rear wiper. Second, there are a few quirks with the stereo and other electronics. Bluetooth is super slow to connect, the auto unlock feature is intermittent and sometimes doesn't work at all. When I approach the car with my key, it will delay or not unlock, then I have to dig for the remote and push the button. The stereo will not auto play music, you have to manually start your music apps on your phone every time which is annoying.

great acceleration. good around town vehicle due to limited battery range. lack of rear windshield wiper is biggest negative. my other complaint is the dealership. they do not offer loaner cars even for cars under warrantee or for recall replairs. they also sold me the car under the pretense that i was paying 52000$ for the car, then filed eith the irs for a tax credit i did not qualify for so the irs dunned me for 8000$ (500$ in penalties) since i did not qualify for the electric vehicle tax credit due to family income. to me this is fraud and i end up paying more than full price for the car. i should be reimbursed 8000$ by the dealer because i only agreed to pay 52000$ for the car and they obtained an extra 7500$ by filing for a tax credit i did not qualify for.

Great car, lacking dealer and corporate experience

Love the car itself - it’s been nothing but fantastic and a ton of fun to drive. However, it’s got a number of tiny warranty issues I can’t get taken care of because the dealer is scheduling over a month out and wants the car for a whole week for something any ICE vehicle would get handled in a few hours. Not to mention the ICCU issue that Hyundai has seemingly refused to address properly. When this lease runs out I think I’m going to go to a different make because of the headaches and uncertainty.

2024 Ionic 5 Limited. Great EV, but…

Great vehicle. Love the car so far after owning it for 2.5 months. However, rear camera lines are quite off from actual path while reversing via 360 degree view.

Looks cool, happy with the battery, super annoyed by some quirks

People stop me to ask about my car, thinking it is something really special. The inside is comfortable. I only use anout 20% of the screen features and the navigation system is a waste (and incorrect more than it should be). The turning radius is too wide/weird. Why didn’t you put cup holders into the back seat? But my biggest gripe is the door locking issue- why can’t you lock the doors when one is open? This was obviously not designed by someone who has kids who take forever to get out of the car. I’d like to be able to press a button to lock the doors either from the door or the fob and know they would be locked, as long as the fob wasn’t inside the vehicle.

Great performance with reliability and comfort

This is the first EV I have driven. The response of the care is amazing. Very comfortable in all seats. I feel it is safe. The app is great and easy to use. As a novice EV driver, I almost immediately acclimated to so much communication and convenience with my car. Love that it charges so fast. Way faster than the other cars at the charging stations. I rented a gas car on a trip and was kind of miserable now that I have grown accustom to the quiet and comfortable drive. It's also easy to clean inside and out. Get a lot of compliments. Perfect blend of futuristic look, but also very practical.

Worth it because of the incentives.

Love my New Ionic 5!

Overall I love the car. I’d been driving two Teslas for 7 years and was pleasantly surprised how the Ionic 5 compared. It’s a pleasure to drive and I look forward to road trips.
