Great lease deal on a comfortable daily driver

The Ioniq 5 lease deal was unbeatable. It is a great daily driver especially for trips under 100 miles.

Exceeds expectations, software and dash layout confusing.

Generally very happy with car and features, but there are some annoying aspects with the software and I really don't understand why there isn't a rear window wiper!!! The software lets me change everything except the things I want: 1) center the speed (MPH) display, 2) set default regen level or have it revert to last setting on start, 3) can't set Climate as option for STAR button, 4) media source should be an option on ALL media screens, 5) trip settings are clunky and hard to find, 6) why are there Map AND Nav buttons??? they can be combined, 7) I prefer a dial display for MPH right in the middle of the dash, 8) the rear view mirror is too dark and the rear view camera just doesn't look right - my eyes don't focus on it immediately when I look at it and I have to stare at it before everything comes in to focus. Others who have driven the car say the same thing. In general, the same information is displayed in too many places. Why?

Love the car (when it runs)

I only had the car for a month or so when it had a major battery system issue. The car has now been in the shop for a month, and I miss it very much.

The car is AWESOME, getting a part from Hyundia corporate is TERRIBLE!

We have loved this vehicle. Great range. Fast charging. The comfort and luxury you would expect in a vehicle twice the price with a European name. But, we are currently looking at months without the car as it is at the dealer (granted they gave us a EV loaner) while they wait for a warranty part they need from Korea. That is frustrating!

Battery and charging dead and no ETA in repair

My ionq5 has been in shop over 3 months and no ETA as when my parts will arrive to repair my car. The car stopped charging and battery stopped working less than 10 months driving off lot. Very disappointing with dealer and the car.

Great platform with some usability flaws

The drivetrain, 800v architecture, and drivability is great. Styling is fantastic. Where it misses is in usability. 1. As a 6 ft, 1 inch tall person, I cannot find a comfortable driving position, and this is the only car I've ever had this problem. I attribute this to the abnormally short adjustability of the steering wheel. In order to get my arms close enough to the steering wheel my knee is jambed into the column shifter and/or low dash. Giving the steering wheel the ability to extend much further (to match every other car out there) would fix this issue. Allowing the seat to drop further may also help. As it is my right knee will probably take significant damage in a frontal crash, as it has nowhere to go but into the dash it is nearly resting on. 2. Can't lock the car with the car running. Basically no "dog mode". My cheap base model Nissan Leaf did this just fine, ridiculous that Hyundai's halo car won't. 3. Climate timer only works when car is plugged in. Also absurd and something my Leaf did just fine. This car has a huge battery, it should warm up on a cold morning outside by itself. No I don't want to use the app every morning to manually start this myself. 4. The physical car key should code to a user profile. My spouse and I must change profiles through the software every time we get in the car, which is twice a day. 5. And the user profile selection keeps not changing when we change it. 4. It would be nice if there was a charge port opening button inside the car. 5. It would be nice if the headrests went further back. They are uncomfortable in any setting and were designed by a crash safety person rather than an ergonomist.

Great safety features, the navigation is so awful that I just use google maps on my phone because car gives me a longer route

Easily the best vehicle we have ever owned.

A well engineered and designed vehicle that makes the switch from a gas vehicle to a fully electric vehicle very easy. The vehicle is a joy to drive and consistently exceeds the stated range. The interior provides superb ride comfort for front and rear passengers while still providing ample rear storage space. All of this comes with an exceptional dealer experience and a superb warrantee.

Digital Teal 2024 Sel

I really like driving this car. Other than a few detractors it is nice. I am not a fast or aggressive driver so keep that in mind. I have found the car to be stable in wind and rain. We drove up the turnpike in NY during the hurricane remnants last August and I was surprised how nice the ride was in challenging conditions. Sound inside is acceptable. There are a few rattles from the back but I don’t notice them all the time so it can’t be too bad. It is a nice looking car. Lots of room both in front and back. Seats are comfortable. I’m not a good reviewer but, you know, if you were in the market for an E-car I would whole heartedly recommend the ioniq 5! Oh yeah. I can go real fast. I put it in sport mode and hit the “gas” and in like 30 milli-secs I was at 65…… Glad I didn’t have that when I was a kid!!!! Things I don’t like….. No rear window wiper - but that has been resolved. I would prefer the charging port in the front not the back. No spare tire, I’m old I like knowing it’s there. Sales people that know even less than I do about electric cars, the ioniq in particular. More frunk space! A printed version of the owner’s manual.——Again I’m old and like to have the book.

Not what it seems

The turning radius isn’t great. The radio dial interferes with the air conditioning panel. Comfortable and the rear view mirror with the camera is helpful.

Amazing car but with some customer satisfaction issues

Futuristic looks, great driving dynamics, spacious and modern interior all benefit this great car, but it's held back by some reliability and build quality issues that have not been fixed yet in attempts by dealership.

it is a great car, with a couple items you need to fix

1.Please change shifter to more like a Merc/Tesla - the twist thing is really bad..... 2. Looks like you have added a rear wiper for 2025, smart 3. Why do I have to push off? This is incredibly annoying. Just have ONE button for ON - use park button. 4. Looks like you have fix the center console- 2024 is terrible. Model off Tesla with wireless pad or somewhere to put you phone that is not the drink holder. Charge ports are in really bad locations - what are you thinking? Drives amazing. You are almost there!
