Drives nice except for one pedal driving feature not engaged all the time

Would like the I-pedal to stay on even in reverse and not turn off every time you start the vehicle. It seems dangerous that it turns off in reverse when you are used to using it in drive. In reverse you have to react and use brake opedal.

Great daily driver but more could be done

Great car. The suspension and acceleration(up to 70 mph)is excellent. The poor camera image quality, interior materials(hard plastics) are a downer but everything else is really good.My wife loves it.

Perfectly "Mid"

Everything about this car is good but could be great with minor tweaks. For example - the interior is comfortable and spacious but is cloth seats and hard scratchy plastics - mid. It has a good zippy infotainment but not very intuitive - mid. It has android auto and carplay but only with a wire - mid. It has parking sensors and lines that move when steering in reverse, but the image quality is from a 2011 Potato - Mid. It has a frunk, it is tiny - mid. If this car was 30-40K it would be a home run, omg best car ever - but 50K is a heavy price tag. I only got it because it had like $20K worth of incentives and my lease is stupid cheap for 13 months. I do like the car a lot but minor changes to it would make it great.

Couldn't wait for the 2025 any longer...

All the issues I had with this vehicle were addressed in the 2025 update, but I couldn't wait until March and the possibility of getting the first builds coming out of Georgia. I leased the Korean-built 2024 AWD Limited in Digital Teal and I am really enjoying it from every perspective. It's a perfect size with the hatchback. The performance and handling are really exhilarating. I miss the new infotainment system that we have in our 2024 Santa Fe Hybrid, especially the wireless phone connectivity. I'm hoping that is in a near future OTA SW update. Otherwise, I'm very happy!

Car won't take a level 2 charge....J1772

Have to use level 3 charger all the time...but I don't care, it's a 24 month lease. The dealership doesn't have an EV mechanic that can fix the thing...I would have to send it 100 miles away and wait 3 weeks....BS!!

I love this car

Driving my new ioniq 5 is the highlight of my day. It is so much fun, has all the cool features that I've always wanted in a car, and I'm so happy that I bought it. I've been told that this 2025 is going to be even better. once my 3 year lease is up, I intend to get the 2027 model.

Great, but Tesla still wins overall.

The ioniq wins by a mile on ride quality, mostly because our tesla model three has terrible ride quality. Also ioniq easily wins on back seat comfort and space. But the Tesla model 3 we own wins on software and charging, and a number of small intangibles that add up to moderate and persistent annoyances in the ioniq by comparison. That said, I doubt I'd be quite so annoyed by those fiddly small things in the ioniq if I were just coming from a regular ice. Lack of persistent one-pedal driving in the ioniq is a real bummer. We're using it as our back up second car and for that it's perfect. Also if we want to drive our friends anywhere. The model 3 is pretty terrible for that.

I love this spaceship!

This car is amazing. The drive is quiet, comfortable and has all the tech bells and whistles one could want. Adaptive cruise control is amazing. I hardly have to touch the pedal or the steering wheel on the highway. It does all the slowing down and maintaining speed for me. This is a very comfortable, quiet ride. I am a picky person when it comes to comfort in a car and this ticks all the boxes! (adjustments everywhere, heated/cooled seats, so nice). Have a charger installed at home which makes waking up to a "full tank" that much more satisfying. I love this car!

Excellent, but note quite "premium".

Great car, but there's some "cheapness" to it, which is disappointing, because it's a premium-priced car. The sound system is mediocre, and the road noise and wind noise levels are louder than they should be in a expensive car. I am constantly turning the sound down when I come to a stop, and then turning it back up when I get going again. Another very irritating things is that there's resting place for my phone. Unbelievable oversight that there's no secure stable resting place for a phone. There should actually be two of them, one for a passenger. And there should also be two very prominent USB ports. There's only one and it's very hard to reach. Impossible to reach while driving, and very difficult to reach even when pulled over. I consider it a very-well-designed vehicle overall, with many smart features, but there are a lot of extraneous capabilities (unneeded features) and some basic, fundamental features that are missing or poorly implemented. This is not the $10,000 cheaper Kona I'm reviewing, this is the "top-of-the-line" I5. I feel I should be getting a more "premium" experience, not feeling like I'm driving an average or economy car. It does have a somewhat "premium" feel but sort of "cheap premium". In fairness, the cars I've driven that have a more premium feel, do cost more.

Fun to drive

Ioniq 5 is comfortable, practical and generously equipped. The Ioniq 5 is an easy EV to get acquainted with and makes a great daily driver. The Ioniq 5 has a supple ride over bumps and ruts in the road.

Fantastic car but needs to take a page from Tesla's books on the basics

Very well built car, most features work fantastic. They did miss some things by a mile, like seat temp controls, and phone/app connectivity. I think if they took a few pages from Tesla's books on connectivity and all this would be THE best EV out there

Great driving experience

The car ride is great. It’s very roomy. Lots of camera. The panel is easy to use. The free charging for 2 years is great. Usually takes less than 30 min using super charge to get it fully charged. I would highly recommend anyone who is thinking of an electric car.

Love it!

Spacious on the inside, fun to drive, unique look. Handles well, sun roof has an automatic shade that will help during hotter months. It's not a Tesla, so you don't have to worry about being associated with Crazy Elon.

It's all electric

I would rather drive an all gas powered vehicle, because I never driven a gas powered vehicle in my life. Besides, nobody wants to buy electric vehicles. Electric vehicles are useless. Electric vehicles will be sledgehammer. Thumbs down? to electric vehicles and thumbs up? to gas powered vehicles.

Awesome vehicle!

Absolutely love this vehicle. I believe it’s a bit over priced for the interior, but over all no major complaints. The vehicle does exactly what you expect. When it comes to the free charging, maybe more options on where to charge. I tend to have to wait along with every other EV that got the same deal at the only location we have here in Colorado Springs.

Overall an excellent vehicle

This is my first EV. Great range, very reliable and predictable, very spacious - even in the back seat. Very comfortable, and has partially reclining rear seats. Very responsive acceleration, fun to drive - even more fun than my previous vehicle, a Kia Stinger.

Fun car

Loving the car so far--1 week and about 250 miles in. Quiet ride, responsive performance, fun to drive--especially with very customizable regenerative braking controls. Bluelink integration is pretty good, with my only minor critique being that I'm not getting trip history back on my phone correctly.

After driving for about a month...

I first leased it in early September 2024, and although there were some minor issues after the lease took effect, I have been riding it without any issues so far. I was a little disappointed that some features were missing in the 2024 model compared to the 2023 model, but the maintenance cost is low due to charging promotions, etc.
