Went Out to Buy a BMW, Came Home with a Genesis G70
My teenage daughter likened our new G70 Sport Prestige's acceleration to a roller-coaster catapult launch at Six Flags. My wife selects the "Comfort" mode and compares it to driving our living room sofa. Our neighbors, who all drive Beemers, Benzes, Lexuses and Land Rovers, all said, "Wow! Looks really cool! What is it?" Me? I gladly traded in my BMW 331i Sport for this car. The G70 leaves it in the dust. No, we are not rich, but we have done well enough in life to indulge on some things. The Genesis G70 keeps us up with the Joneses but does not look like just another BMW, MBZ, Audi, Acura, et al. It's distinct, edgy-but-classy styling got thumbs-up comments from our friends and neighbors, but also gets noticed at the car wash, gas pumps, golf club and even at church. Driving? Like I said - I couldn't trade my beloved BMW in fast enough once we test-drove this car. It's Sport-mode driving is exhilarating and gives BMW and Audi a real run for their money. The G70 is crammed with comfort, eye-popping technology and safety features beyond it's competitors, but still comes in about $12k to $15k lower in price. Reliability? Who cares? A factory 10yr, 100k mile warranty takes care of that. It also tells me the manufacturer has high confidence in its products because they certainly don't want to be on the hook for a lot of expensive repairs. And when we get close to the 100k miles, I'll just wait for the robocall lady trying to reach me about my extended warranty. While rare to see on the road now, I predict you will soon see more and more Genesi (I think that's plural for Genesis) on the road.
