Nissan Frontiers produced between 2000 and 2007
Unknown to me, the Nissan line of Frontiers, Acuras and one other were manufactured with a flaw in the radiator line during the above years. I suffered the leak of anti freeze into the transmission as did many others, after 10 years of ownership. This issue with the radiator and transmission marked the beginning of repair after repair; the search for the source of a rough idle cost thousands, first through the boots and coils, then through a spark plug change, and finally, after all that, the discovery that a fuel injector was faulty. Then the faulty fuel injector had dumped massive amounts of carbon into the cat converters, mucking them all, and at least another thousand to change those out. The Frontier still runs, as testified to by Mr. Scott. But the engine light never goes out, constantly indicating low efficiency in the left bank (cat). I have invested a lot in the truck and it is now my cross to bear. Had I known this would be an ongoing thing, I would have traded the truck after the radiator replacement and transmission rebuild cost. But it ran for 10 years with an amazing lack of problems, and we don't have crystal balls.
