Love my 2025 Hyundai Tucson but...............
I am new to the SUV crowd. I was a Nissan person since my first car. Wanting to switch over to an SUV, I test drove a few others. One being a Nissan Rogue and the other being a Lexus NX350. I didn't care for the Rogue and liked the Lexus, but it didn't have many bells and whistles electronically and was very expensive. I love the look of the Tucson, inside and out, so I decided to test drive a Hyundai. The drive compared to the Lexus but the price was right and it is loaded with technology (all user friendly). I love the color and just about everything about it. One thing I noticed about the car is that the body of the car is not as heavy as other cars. My other family car is a Lexus and that body is much heavier. However, there is a "safety" feature I do NOT like and neither do other people I know that have this feature. If you are approaching a vehicle or another car comes suddenly in front of you and you are already slowing down and breaking (in total control), the car decides on it's own to stop suddenly or you might even say abruptly and the car comes to a dead stop and you cannot do anything but just let the car do it's thing. When this first happened, I almost was rear-ended but the driver behind me was able to swerve. I addressed this issue with the service Dept. when having an oil change stating it is an accident waiting to happen. They said they tried to lessen the sensitivity of it and that was it; they didn't make a big deal of it or try to please me in any other way. It has also happened to my husband while driving the car so he witnessed it as well. Well low and behold, it happened in traffic (the car deciding to come to a sudden stop when I was already breaking) and a car rear-ended me (happened to be a Hyundai) and another car rear-ended that car. The other cars needed to be towed. Mine was badly damaged in the rear. I would love for this feature to be deleted from the vehicle. It is NOT a "safety" feature. It IS a hazard. That's why only 4 Stars
I also called Fred Beans because he gave me his number when I purchased the car and said if you ever need anything to call. I thought he should be aware of this issue so I called. I did not receive a return phone call, but received this survey instead. NOT GOOD!!!
