Disappointed With the Quality and Reliability of My 2026 Sonata

I purchased my 2026 Hyundai Sonata brand new on June 2, 2026, with only 13 miles. Unfortunately, my experience has been extremely disappointing. Within the first few months, I experienced tire issues, repeated brake problems, and unusual noises that required multiple dealership visits. At approximately 4,000 miles, the dealership resurfaced my brake rotors, which I find unacceptable for a brand-new vehicle. Even after repairs, the braking concerns continued. I purchased a new vehicle expecting reliability, safety, and peace of mind, not repeated trips to the service department. Although I appreciate having transportation provided while my vehicle was being serviced, it does not make up for the inconvenience, frustration, and loss of confidence in my vehicle. Hyundai needs to take greater responsibility for the quality of its vehicles and address these concerns properly. My overall ownership experience has been very disappointing.

My 2015 Sonata Sport 2.0t had lots of features this one doesn't have. Example: power passenger seat, seat memory, air cooling seats, sunglass holder. Garage door opener built in, compass . Those are just a few. Odd that car 11 years newer does not have them.

Drives nicely, but missing Hyundai Store access

I’ve only put about 500 miles on my 2026 Sonata so far, but it drives nicely and I’ve enjoyed it overall. My main disappointment is that the Hyundai Store isn’t available for the Sonata, while models like the Tucson have access. It’s frustrating to miss out on these features in a brand-new vehicle. I hope Hyundai adds support for the Sonata soon.

This has been a great car so far. It handles really well and runs great(love the power and performance of the turbo-charged engine)! The interior is quite comfortable and driver friendly. The dash and screen are easy to read and have way more information and detail than my previous vehicles. Trunk space is great. This car is great for traveling and its appearance is sporty and good looking.

The doors open Much too wide. You need a 6 ft arm to close them.

Very disappointed withthe 2026 Sonata. I have always had Sonatas -the last one was a2019 which I loved. But the design of the 2026 is not comforatble. The roof is low like the Elantra and we bump our heads when we enter the car. The doors open to a 90 degree angle making it extremely hard to reach out to grab the door to close it. I looked for some kind of a door latch the decrease the width of the door openeing but cannot find anything.
