transmission failed

I loved my brand new 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe so it hurts me to give it 1 star. The car is beautiful, the third row seating is awesome, and the technology is great but the transmissions are all failing. Because they are all failing, they are on back order and mine took 30 days to come. My payments are high and I still had to pay that month. I am trying to recoup some money from Hyundai, I have a case number but they are not making it easy. I ended up taking a loss and trading it in to upgrade to a Calligraphy Hybrid which does not have the transmission issues for 200$ more a month. The Hybrid is a 5 star car, I wish I had gotten it in the first place. If you buy a Santa Fe please get the Hybrid or wait until they address the transmission problems. It is an awesome car and the third row is great.

Transmission crashed at 2291 miles

At the time of purchase was very excited and pleased with the SantaFe XRT. Traded a 2023 SantaFe Calligraphy for the 2024. 6 weeks in and at 2291 miles the transmission went. Been waiting 6 weeks now for it to be replaced. It’s been in the shop the same length of time I got to drive it.

Vehicle had a recall at 2000 miles that caused the tranmission to fail.

Santa fe Calligraphy trim is a good vehicle if your car is not affected by the recall. If it is be prepared to be without the car while it gets serviced as it can be troublesome working with some dealerships on getting the repair done in a timely manner.

Third Santa Fe, had a few problems, Hyundai was slow to react.

This is a good solid SUV. Mine had a few problems that Hyundai has finally fixed most. Cruise control has a small glitch and the driver watching camera fails to shut off. Waiting for the fixes for these problems. Do not like the way the shifter works, not very intuitive, it seems clumsy and poorly positioned. Seems as though they tried to hide it. Under console storage is almost impossible to access.

Electric issues

The positive: Room our Limited Hybrid has so much room. Seats are large and have great support-heat & cooled. Even the 3rd row has good comfort. Plenty of storage for suitcases with a cover, Easy access in and out of car. Negatives: Radio , why can't it stay on our favorites? Big issues: Our dash would go out. Sometimes for a minute but up to an hour (not fun on the hwy). After 4 or 5 visits we are hoping it's fixed. We also been having an issue with getting in the car, lock it and it won't open. Handle doesn't work or key fob. It will open after a while, could be 2 tries or after 15 minutes of extremely maddening waiting. Last week before it went to its second home at the dealership, I counted 135 tries to open, this was about 5 minutes of standing in the rain. My wife has had enough and wants to get rid of it and I'm close behind. It's been back in the shop since last Wednesday so we will see how long it takes to get back this time. It is the last attempt to fix this. Hyw gas mileage ranges from upper 20s to lower 30s. In town mixed driving we get 32 average.

Great car till transmission went at 1709 miles 32 days no answers

Great until 1709 miles and transmission went, bought All Star Ford Hyundia Amarillo returned car 34 days with cratered transmission, told would let us no what Hyundia would do, still haven’t heard after 32 days ask for buy back said he would call us week later never did , dealer offered to let us trade it in if we would give them an additional 15000,00 I said I wasn’t crazy , still nothing. Very unhappy with all involved.

Don’t waste your time

I bought a 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe and it has been in the shop with recalls and now a transmission that has to be replaced, vehicle has less than 5000 miles on it. Had I known this vehicle was going to be problematic I would have kept my 2022 Dodge Ram 1500

Seems okay

Initial problem was a recall for transmission was supposed to be accomplished BEFORE vehicle was released to buyer - me. Federal law required this to be done but in my case it was not. Twice the first week it engaged while in reverse causing a loud bang and jolt of the powertrain, very scary. Don't know if I can trust the transmission even after getting the recall performed.

Hardly any storage room

Hardly any space in the glove compartment and in the trunk storage compartment, you'd be lucky to fit a chihuahua. The cold or heat going through the air vents hardly reach the second row passengers and third row passengers get nothing at all.l

Wish I didn’t buy this sadly

This is my third Sante Fe (calligraphy now ) and the 3rd time is not a charm but a BUST. I first was not made aware of the matte paint required care but the dealer worked with me to help with PPF. Now the instrument cluster goes black and is on its 4th time to fix ( even with a Hyundai bulletin). I have ~2300 miles on this car only. I couldn’t be more disappointed right now. I used to brag about my Hyundai ( I could afford a more luxury brand) but was proud of the prior Hyundais. Now, I am praying this gets resolved.

A Garbage Vehicle from a Company that Doesn't Care

I would not recommend this car to my worst enemy. The consistent problems with its Forward Attention Warning system means cruise control doesn't work most of the time. And worse than this...the Hyundai team doesn't really care. You bought the car, so it's your problem now -that's the sentiment I get when speaking with my local Hyundai dealership. And even with a Case Manager assigned by Hyundai corporate, I've been in limbo for weeks. I just want someone to look at and at least make an effort to fix this defect, but Hyundai clearly doesn't care. I've always bought Hyundai in the past, but it pains me to say that this will be the last one I ever buy. Hyundai, maybe if you took time to try and fix your problems rather than ignoring them, you'd keep loyal customers. But as is, it's clearly you don't care.

Would be great if it weren’t for the driver monitoring camera

I would have given 5 stars but I hate the driver monitoring camera on the console that repeatedly tells me to pull over and take a coffee break. One of these days I’m going to destroy it with a hammer.

Garbage

So many issues with this vehicle from sensor issues to display issues to driving issues. Runs very loud, alerts go off even when you turn them off in settings, gas tank is very small so requires frequent fill ups. Just about everything about this car is total garbage. Many connection issues with CarPlay and Bluetooth and computer glitches constantly. Don’t buy this car!!

Like the car but overly complicated to start/switch drivers. the assigning of drivers by using a touch pad for my finger (does not always work) or having to type in my code is very repetitive and un necessary. also does not always set the seats etc. correctly

Stay away

We are now in day 32 of Santa Fe ownership with 17 of those days in service and no end in sight as we await parts for a third attempt at resolution for a gauge/instrument panel outage. I cannot recommend a vehicle I have not been able to enjoy or utilize.

Ok but service at dealership is terrible

Bought my 2024 Santa Fe in late February. The touch screen started messing up- would flash, go black, and would not come on. Took it to dealership three times. The third time I went to a different dealership and told them I wanted a new one put in. They claimed to have fixed it. Said there was a wire that was twisted. I have had it back for a couple of days and so far it has worked. It hasn’t been driven in a week as we are on vacation so hopefully it will still be working when we get home. Overall like the smoothness of the ride on trips. The backseat air/heat is not great. There is a vent in the door frame on each side of the car and anyone in the back seats say that they can’t feel the a/c. My local dealership leaves a lot to be desired. Scheduled first oil change- drive an hour to get there and they had no record of the appointment even after I showed them texts confirming the appointment. They wanted me to wait three hours while they worked me in. I left and had it done elsewhere. Same deal with the screen they kept saying they had fixed it so I finally took it to another dealership. Happy with the car itself just not the service from my local delearship.

Solid, safe, smooth riding

The car is very comfortable despite some limitations on the adjustment of the front passenger. The car needs 2 wireless chargers not just one otherwise we love the vehicle. Tech features are excellent and easy to use.

Very pleased so far. some features of the infotainment system can be confusing, but I am learning. Many compliments on it from people. The engine is very responsive, and the ride is very good. There is a lot of room in it.

Great Vehicle

Absolutely love the new updates, looks, drivability, and options. But…the vehicle sensors you too much. Even when facing forward you get a lot of warnings to face forward or keep both hands on the steering wheel. It even tells you that you have been driving too long and need to take a break. THATS ANNOYING.
