2025 Palisade Review

Our 2025 Palisade has outperformed our expectations in MPG, comfort, cargo space and power. Have not had any mechanical issues and it has performed well in both the flat Virginia Peninsula area and the steeper areas we visit in western Virginia. Have not had occasion to use third row seats during first 14 months but often carry heavy loads on distant golf trips and still routinely get 30 MPG +/-.

Design left a lot to be desired

For Calligraphy trim, I wanted to feel more than just "meh" about it. I wasn't impressed and only 1 year later I traded in the Pallisade to go back to a Telluride SX. My first disappointment was the dash and cluster. No weather themed clusters like the Telluride, and other elements seemed less thoughtfully designed. It was less accommodating for shorter, smaller people. For example, the screen dash didn't have any curve, making the reach from the driver seat more awkward. The seat randomly squeezes your sides, I guess for posture relief, but it didn't close in enough for me to feel it. The leg rest at the front was very uncomfortable as well. It also lacked common sense design in some areas, too. Instead of a sunglasses holder in the roof, I got a reflective mirror to spy on passengers. (Where am I to keep sunglasses so I can at least be discreet when spying?) Storage wasn't prioritized, but maybe the retractable cupholders were supposed to make up for that. One thing that drove me up the wall was the dinging that occurs when someone unbuckles mid-drive wouldnt stop even if put into park or buckles reconnected. It would still be going off by the time I reached the other side of the school parking lot after dropping off my kids. The front seat cooler didn't work, and when I went to the dealership for a repair, I was told it works fine and if it didn't work it was my fault or that I wasn't big enough to feel it. (Come on, I'm not THAT small. And I know I'm just a girl but how can I mess up turning on a seat cooler with 1 button? I passed kindergarten successfully, after all.) There were a plethora of little things like that which individually are no big deal, but when added up, made it less than a sensational drive.

Excellent l, but could be even better

I love my Palisade, but there are several areas that could be improved... On the Calligraphy Night edition that I own, I'd prefer to have had regular leather seats over the suede. Leather is so much easier to clean! The Black Chrome grill is showing all sorts of nicks and chips where small pebbles have hit it on the highway. Surely there is a more durable way to make black chrome instead of just spraying right over the silver grill... Same goes for all of the other parts that would be silver, accents on the doors and rear bumper. Gloss black plastic trim is easy to get swirls on fron washing. No wireless Android Auto? Come on... For a Harman Kardan audio system, it lacks punch and volume. It sounds good, sure, but once I hit 20 on the volume, going up to 45 doesn't seem like it gets much louder. For a premium audio system, I expected more. It's in the process of being replaced with all new JBL speakers and JL amps with built in tunable DSP and a 12" sub for more thump. I would have appreciated power folding mirrors. I'm concerned about engine and transmission long term reliability.

Will it rain vehicle! I enjoyed the very favorable and solid ride. The luxury interior in my inscription model is gorgeous! Everything is great including the service at my dealership. Hard to find anything that I do not like about the vehicle.

This vehicle is everything I thought it would be. I thought I was downgrading from an Audi Q7, but this ride is much more comfortable, better gas mileage, smaller tank and everything I wanted it to be. I'm very happy with the Calligraphy series I purchased. My only complaint is no power folding mirrors. I have cracked the passenger side mirror a time or two getting in and out of my garage.

Disappointed

The car has a lot of options for the price point. I gave it such a low rating because the vehicle pulls to the right and it seems like there’s nothing to do to help it. Another thing is the dealerships don’t care and don’t listen to the customers to understand what’s actually going on and diagnose. There are a couple features that I figured that the car would have and it doesn’t wireless CarPlay and folding mirrors. The drive is OK. There’s a lot of noise on the highway. The ride is smooth, depending on your tires. There are some squeaks that happen after about 10,000 miles and they’re in the dash and seatbelt area. You can’t ask the dealership about them because they find those superficial problems. If you ask me if I would buy the car again, I would say no the reasoning behind that is because I don’t think Hyundai is going to fix the pool to the right problem and the new ones are ugly. But compared to the rest of the market, Hyundai has the best options for the right price point.

Great car, but a few things have needed to be fixed in the first year

We have really enjoyed the car. Technology is great! ride is smooth. Space is good in all seats… and all at a good price. That being said, there have been some items we needed to get resolved and fixed in the first year that were frustrating… 1) the ABS was acting weird when braking over a bump. 2) the phone connector to the CarPlay keeps cutting in and out. 3) the back seat is deemed unsafe and needs resolution. 4) the emissions need to be fixed based on a recall.
