Serious Complaint Regarding 2026 Hyundai Palisade – Defective Exterior Finish and Hyundai's Failure to Resolve the Issue
I am extremely disappointed with the quality of my 2026 Hyundai Palisade and, even more importantly, Hyundai Motor America's handling of my warranty complaint.
The exterior coating began peeling only a few months after I purchased this brand-new vehicle. Despite repeatedly contacting Hyundai Motor America, I have experienced months of delays, unfulfilled promises, and a complete lack of accountability.
Hyundai instructed me to visit a dealership for an inspection. However, after I made the trip, dealership personnel merely looked at the affected area, dismissed the problem as normal wear and tear, and refused warranty coverage without conducting a meaningful inspection.
I have also dealt with multiple Hyundai representatives who repeatedly promised follow-up communication but failed to provide any meaningful resolution.
This is completely unacceptable for a brand-new vehicle.
A manufacturer should stand behind its product quality and honor its warranty obligations rather than repeatedly sending customers between corporate representatives and dealerships without resolving the underlying issue.
I am requesting:
1. A proper technical inspection of the defective exterior finish.
2. A written explanation of the warranty denial.
3. Appropriate warranty repair or other satisfactory resolution.
4. Accountability for Hyundai's prolonged mishandling of my complaint.
My confidence in Hyundai's product quality, customer service, and warranty support has been seriously damaged.
I hope J.D. Power will take this experience into consideration when evaluating Hyundai's vehicle quality, dependability, and customer satisfaction.
