Leased my Kona on 9/8/25. Starting on June 22, 2026, the car has failed to start on five different occasions. Just got it back on Friday, September 11. 2026. Not a very happy customer.

Love it but no trunk button

Not ideal for elder or injured people. The trunk is heavy and hard to close if you aren’t super strong

Almost perfect

I’ve had my baby for five months and am still trying to figure out some things that I am finding about her but am not finding in the manual. She also seems to have a mind of her own sometimes. I’ve been able to turn on auto brights until a couple days ago. My son borrowed my car one day and turned on the lane assist(?) but said he didn’t know how he did it when I asked him. That’s just a couple things.

I’m not sure I’m getting the mileage that I did on my previous Hyundai, and there are features that I do not have in this car that I didn’t realize I would not have like ignition turn off at traffic lights. Check the rear seat before exiting the vehicle things like that.

New Kona

I like my new Kona. It is a comfortable ride and I enjoy having the extra room in the trunk. I think two improvements that I would like are: 1) electronic controls on the passage seat (to move it back/forward or to recline, like the driver's seat) and 2) the ability to set the seat and mirrors for another driver. I formerly had a Sonata Limited and liked being able to switch drivers without manually having to adjust the settings. Also, I've had it less than 3 months and I just received a recall notice for a rear seatbelt fix.

A very pleasant surprise

The '26 Kona is a big improvement over our '23 Kona, and stacks up week to our '25 Tucson Hybrid. The feature list is commendable, the ride pleasant and the sound level in the cabin is not bad. We do wish it had a front camera, however.
