A real competitor.
Out of left field, Hyundai has developed a fantastic hybrid that challenges anything else 2017 has on offer. The steering is light and responsive, phone integration is fantastic and just works, the trunk space is really good, and shifting between driving modes is tied to the shifter, instead of the buttons that take your focus away from the road. The car has little in the way of engine noise, but the road noise ramps up more than I would like. Great head-room, the moon roof is a definite plus. Driver visibility is satisfactory though the typical blind spots are very noticeable. A pretty good sound system as well. Braking takes getting used to... there's an unanticipated learning curve associated with a hybrid six-speed transmission. Once you understand it however you'll see some great fuel economy numbers.
