Smooth and Powerful.

We love the car. It drives great, handling, comfort, control and especially power. The highway efficiency is much better then other electric cars. You can feel the car's aerodynamics working for you breezing through the air. We took the Ioniq 6 on a 3000 mile road trip over a week and it was wonderful. We beat the EPA efficiency rating at highway speeds! The super fast DC charging is a blessing. Stop, plug in, go grab a snack, use the restroom and your ready to go.

Really enjoying owning and electric vehicle and my Ionic ) specifically. The sleek design is beautiful, and the transition to an electric vehicle was quite seamless with a clever dash design.

Great but would be excellent with a few more adjustments

Outside is great. No NACS is actually not a big deal. Ioniq 5 has a better entertainment OS. Interior finish can sometimes look cheap. Only one power window is odd. Not a fan of center window control. Parking sensors need an update so they don't beep due to objects in front when you're in reverse. That's just annoying. Can't manually turn on battery conditioning and built in system doesn't seem to recognize all chargers.

The luxurious Ionic 6 makes me enjoy driving

The Ionic 6 drives like a luxury vehicle. Quiet, smooth, comfortable, and with controls at my fingertips. The car designers seem to have left no stone unturned. I'm still discovering new features that make driving easier.

Almost Great — But Huge Flaws

A month in, I don't regret my Ioniq 6 decision, but I do wonder about alternatives since the flaws on the car are pretty significant ones — especially regarding the entry system. The flush handles are nice, but the default hands-free unlocking system is for ALL handles to pop out, leading to potentially huge security issues. Without an auto-lock feature on walking away, the potential to leave the car unlocked with all the handles open for anyone to use is massive. There are other small problems, including an increasing problem with wind noise. They aren't outweighed by the car's advantages — but those advantages are significant, including a smooth ride, GREAT charging capability, and very impressive range. Plus, I really do love the styling.

Almost perfect!

It would be great if, when walking away with key fob, the car would lock. Also, having the brake lights show on/off on the car icon on the infotainment center would be a huge plus. Other than that, the car is perfect.

Sensors too sensitive

Generally everything is great. The sensors alerting me to nearby objects could be improved. If I’m in reverse, I don’t need to know that I’m close to the object in front of me.

So far so good!

The car is good overall, but it has some issues. First, the battery range is not what it says when I bought the car. It drains very fast, and I have to charge it several times during the week. Second, I noticed that pests can enter the car, which means there is a place they can get in, or it is not sealed perfectly.

An extremely competitive EV that's great to live with

The IONIQ 6 is a joy to commute with and is very satisfying to use. Efficiency is high. Charging is very fast. Range anxiety should not be a problem for the vast majority of drivers who actually try to live with this car. Power is amazing and extremely refined. Multiple drive modes work well. The design is very polarizing, but I find it attractive and similar to other desirable cars, such as the Porsche Panamera. The front and back seats are cavernous, and have some of the most leg room I've ever seen. The drawbacks are few, but are hard to see at this price point. On the Limited trim, the sunroof is small and takes a lot away from the driver head room. If you are slightly taller than the average man, you may be very close to the ceiling. Android Auto is not available wirelessly, which feels behind other competitors. Suspension is firm, but the handling is not sporty. This means the ride is on the harsh side for a commuter, but that's usually a trade-off for sporty handling which is not the case here. Feels like a bit of the worst of both worlds, but I have to assume this has something to do with the weight of the battery and the cost of the suspension design. I wish we got the camera side mirrors in the US, but I understand that may have been out of Hyundai's control with regulation. There are no real options to disable nanny systems for sport or track use. Finally, the car is very long, with a very long wheelbase to match. Parking in tight quarters is a challenge and the 360° camera is very practical and necessary. Overall, Hyundai is really taking the lead on EVs and providing an incredible vehicle with the IONIQ 6. I recommend it highly, and I hope we can start to see more vehicle like it.

The car is great! There should be a way to lock the care when exiting instead of having to hit the lock button on the fob. It would be great if you could hit a button on the interior that would lock it once you exit the car. Or, I would prefer the car lock itself when exiting the car.
