Great range, interface, interior aesthetic. But where's all the space?

This is our 2nd EV, we started small and worked our way up. The range of the car is great, there are lots of fun driving and interface features and it feels like a luxury car at an accessible price. Our only gripes (besides not having a spare, which nobody does anymore) are space. The trunk is very limited due to the angle of the back seats and the height of the trunk roof/lid, which cannot be closed over a box the size of a wine case. The door storage is also very awkward - the pockets appear to be designed to hold drinks but cannot hold even a small water bottle. Lastly, the turning radius of the car is lacking, and it is difficult to see if one is not dependent on the backup cameras. Honestly, most of the drawbacks are small. Fix those little things to be 5-star - oh, and a richer sound system wouldn't hurt.

Great EV for the money

No issues at all with the vehicle (other than the chrome strip on the dash reflects on the windshield which can be distracting). Climate controls (on/off) could be easier to get to. Very smooth ride with the expected great torque. I was impressed with the top end speed (120 MPH is as far as I've gone). Trunk is functional. Front trunk? Hahaha. It might hold a sandwich. Lack of a free NASC adapter was a disappointment.

First EV, wont be going back for commuter car

I bought this car based on features and functions you cant do outside of a screen. I have not been disappointed and actually now drive this more than my Porsche and 4Runner. It's fast, quiet, and solidly smooth. I wasn't sure about the rear styling but next to my Porsche it's a perfect match.

Fun to drive.

Unique looking, get compliments all the time. Fun to drive. Sleek modern design. Sound system needs improvement. Need better surround sound and bass. Have to turn up to almost 50 to be “louder”. The update made it a bit better. I still prefer my Ram’s speakers.

Love my IONQ6

Beautiful exterior design. Wish the transition blue color was more blue than gray. Driver's seat is not as comfortable as my Lexus, but otherwise the interior is great. Once I got a charger in my garage, it is very convenient to charge and drive although the distance is less than I'd like with AWD.

Best car ever!

We bought our IONIQ 6 in December and love it so much! We’ve driven it on a 1200 mile road trip and numerous 400 mile trips and had no problems at all charging. And not only that it is super comfortable! My friends all say I should be a spokesperson for the IONIQ 6 because so many of them want one now!

Fun, easy drive, quiet,

Fun car to drive, difficult infotainment system, a large car but still has a good turn radius. The comfort system sometimes seems to have a mind of it's own, raising and lowering the set temp on its own

This car makes me feel fat

It’s big and heavy, handles like an SUV, has the turn radius of a tanker, takes up so much space on the road and sticks out in parking lots. The mileage is terrible, less than half of the advertised range. It has no cargo space. The driver safety sensors are inaccurate and I can’t turn off the warning bells. I have so many more reasons. I dislike this car so much.

Comfortable driving, stability issues with RWD controls need moving.

This is my second Ioniq 6, my first was all wheel drive and handled much better. The rear wheel drive drifts when turning left, acceleration slower than a gas powered car, compared to AWD. The gear selector need to be moved to the center console, and door controls moved to the doors along with the mirror control. This premium version has too many bells and whistles: side camera views create too much of a distraction they collect information the owner can’t access or remove along with other details, this is a clear problem in all modern cars. The roof should should be raised at the back making the rear window larger, the truck opening is too small. I was tricked into this car, I specifically told them I wanted a red AWD SEL. As SEL was not available they offered me this one without telling me it was rear wheel drive only, I would rather have wait until the car I wanted was available. My lease still have several months to go and they initiated the trade in. Fell conned.

Sharp looks, great range, good value, comfortable, a lot of trunk space for luggage , boxes and the like. Easy to drive, easy to charge. Should come with a spare tire in case of emergencies and USB outlets in trunk.

Enormous potential-lacking some features

As a brand positioning itself to be a bit of a more premium option than Kia, comparative trims between the two companies should always have a clear cut winner by Hyundai on features Also I can’t see the top half of my dash board because of my height+steering wheel. 5’10-6’0 users suffer. There is value for the money due to the California rebate + manufacturer discount, but I would never in my life pay 40k for my 2025 Ioniq 6. Very disappointing speaker quality, very disappointing trim features on the SEL overall. There should not be a manual passenger seat on a mid tier trim on a 47k MSRP vehicle.

Coolest Affordable Family Sedan

If you have tall children, this is the car for you. My husband and I are both tall, and with our seats extended to where we need them, our daughter still has ample legroom. In neutral weather we get above the estimated miles to charge and we love the luxurious, yet sporty suspension.

Love my Ionic 6

It’s a great car. Handles well, drives like a silent dream. And with a home charger you can kiss the gas station goodbye! My only negative comments are: I’m a petite woman and with the driver’s seat set forward, it’s very easy to inadvertently knock that little button below the dash with your knee on your way out of the car and open the trunk. I did that once when it was raining and did not notice 😢. When you have to stop short, the car stops but it seems like the heavy battery pack shifts a bit. Kind of disconcerting. The car is rather wide and that can sometimes come into play when fitting into a parking space. Tight. Difficult. But the spacious interior is a real plus, especially for my older or taller passengers. Love the auto setting on lights. I have the long range SE and that’s a great thing. Even if you’re not on a long trip it means less time and money charging your car. Electric is the future and so much better: faster, more powerful, non-polluting, and so quiet.
